I'm 30 yrs old, and I was told I had somehow developed 14 cavities over the year I was pregnant. I was distraught over the quantity of dental repair and the cost.
My dentist asked me what type of fillings I wanted as I was in the chair waiting for the inevitable. I was never informed of my options before, so I naively uttered what was foremost in my mind, "Whatever's cheaper." God, how I wish I could have that moment back.
I now have eleven new mercury fillings in my mouth, and no one wants to help me. I can't afford to do it all over again. I can't eat, chew gum, floss, or brush my teeth without stress. I want these things out of my mouth!! But I need help. What can I do??

When I got my filling, I didn't even have a choice. After the dentist put in the silver which I didnt know would be put into my mouth, I asked him for a white filling which the last one was.

It's important to educate yourself on this issue and if you decide to have amalgam fillings removed, I highly recommend you only have a dentist who was trained by Hal Huggins perform the procedure. Mercury is a highly toxic waste and many untrained dentists are performing this daily in the U.S. and sometimes people get hurt or have no recovery at all!

Finances are often an issue but be careful not to be overcharged. Take time to call several dentists and compare prices. I did and it saved me a lot of money. Be willing to travel if necessay to save money.

In the mean time, you may want to avoid foods containing sulphur as they facilitate the transfer of mercury through cell walls into the blood (taken from Hal Huggins book "It's All In Your Head"). This includes eggs, excessive garlic, MSM, etc.

I highly recommend you read this book ("It's All In Your Head") cover to cover as it conains much information on how you can protect yourself while you still have the mercury in your mouth.
