Do any of you know why I am so adversely affected to medications including natural supplements? Within 5-10 minures of just taking vitamins I feel this "wave like" sensation coming from my abdomen to my throat, My heart starts pounding and racing and then I feel like I can't get enough air. So what do I do if I can't take the supplements to make me healthier and help rid my body of the mercury? I guess this sounds like a panic attack but I don't feel panicky until I feel that "wave like" sensation.

hmmm, maybe your having an allergic reaction to the coatings, sorbates or other type chemicals they use in supplements. The best type of supplements to buy are the ones that are totally natural-- and Vegan.

maybe what you can do for the detox is-- just get the Algin supplements at least (you'll need these to sponge up spilled mercury in the body)

then either get totally natural version supplements --or powders to add ijnto your juices--green spirulina or chlorella powders that people use to mix in juices.

raw nuts, raw apples, raw pineapple, raw citrus, and raw sulfur type foods like raw garlic, cilantro, radishes, carrots, cabbage, etc, all naturally detox out mercury a little at a time. What to do is get these foods daily- and at the same time, take Algin along with these foods (especially the chlorella powder)

drink plenty of healthy liquids and water in between your meals to flush out metals into your urine and bowel movement too.

You'll find a way!

I sometimes get strange symptoms right after eating or taking supplements. I've been doing The Median Sequence from the King Institute website. I saw Dr. King speak at a Nature's Sunshine convention years ago about stopping a heart attack with your hands, but I was skeptical. So years later, I looked into it and am studying The KI Method. It seems to help if I do it before I eat or take supplements.
I also do this again at night to help me sleep, and I feel electrical or energy sensations while doing it, but they are not disturbing. I'm told it just means I'm very sensitive to electrical fields. Some people feel other things, but if you breathe thru it, it's usually over in less than 2 minutes.
Doing the KI method makes me sleepy, others report it makes them urinate more than usual. So it's a good idea to drink water afterwards.
They have a free e-newsletter and they give some samples of things to do for free, so take advantage of those !!
It helped me get rid of migraines I got once a month for 7 years.

There must be something among your supplements that is causing this. I bet it's just one thing. If I were you, I'd eliminate the supplements one-by-one and see when it goes away.

I've learned in the past 10 years of working on my health issues that everything has a cause and if you are careful and take the time to find it, you will.

OT but kind of relevant. I'm thinking of getting an EMF reader for my bedroom. It's directly above the electrical meter downstairs, which is also the main point of electrical entry into the house. This gives off EMF. To make things worse, my bed is directly above it, and worse still, my head is above it. I

I estimate there is about 6ft between my head and the meter, which may well be enough, but I think getting an EMF reader would help me identify if I am sleeping in a "hot spot" and if so to maybe switch things around, although it will be hard as my room is so small!

I think when designing houses, they need to put the meters etc below the bathrooms not bedrooms as most people don't spend as long in them.

I worry about EMF's a lot. I used to have my bed the other way around, but then my head was by the power socket and directly below my tv, which might have been worse (although I always had it switched off).

Most people think I am crazy to worry about stuff like this, but EMF's have been linked to cancer and other problems.

Molly, regarding your question. What supplements do you use? Some of them are not very good and even contain things like aspartame. Natural ones are best. I get mine from a health shop and look at the ingredients carefully.

I sometimes get reaction to supplements when I first take them, and if it doesn't stop I either stop taking them or I cut down how often I take them or I go for a lower dose. In the shop I go to, they usually have a lot of choice of dosages, so it might be worth experimenting with lower dosages etc.

I am not currently taking any supplements and haven't for the past 3-3 1/2 years. I am a self admitted chicken now when it comes to taking any form of medication. I got theses supplements from 2 health stores and from a doctor that practices natural health. It has been so long ago that I don't know what I was taking. I just find it funny that they would all have the same effect. So now I wonder if I have "leaky-gut syndrome." Could this be a symptom? I really don't know anything about it and probably should. Could that be my underlying problem or does mercuty toxicity cause leaky-gut syndrome. Sheesh! Sometimes it can feel overwhelming.

I'm the same, Molly. I'm scared even of taking paracetamol these days. I take vitamins, but am too scared to take the high dose ones, so I stick to lower doses i.e. I take 500mg of vit c. and 250 mg magnesium (but not every day) and the RDA of zinc. Once I've got my alginate product I'm going to take vit e about 100iu a day to help with mercury detox. It's recommended 400iu but I read that could cause damage so that was enough for me to not be able to take it anymore. I only need to read one article that calls something into question, and I go automatically on the "err on the side of caution". I no longer have flouride or aspartame, even though some people say they are safe, there are those who say they are not, therefore I won't have them. As to leaky gut, I don't know. The dentist I saw before my last one said this could be my problem.

Maybe if you are mercury toxic you have chemical sensitivity or you are allergic to what is in medicines. Maybe you could try starting with a vit c supplement of 250mg with bioflavinoids that is of good quality, and see how you go with that. It gave me a headache the first time I took vit c, but now I don't have a problem with it. If you get benefit, you could try upping to 500mg. If that doesn't work for you, then you could go back to the lower dose. This is how I'm dealing with my phobia of things, starting with the lower doses and working up. I know I need some vits to help with the mercury, so I need to find what works for me. I can't eat fruit because I have allergic reaction so it's important for me to have the vit c supplement. Mine is almost ran out now so I'm getting one with bioflavinoids next time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Mercury is well-known to cause leaky-gut syndrome.

Also, the hype about the dangers of taking too much vitamin E is an effort to keep people sick by the establishment media and pharmaceutical companies. It is well known among alternative doctors and health professionals that U.S. RDAs are vastly low and this has been clearly shown in many studies I've read.

Vitamin E is excellent for protecting the brain from mercury-induced oxidative damage. The only well-known side effect for vitamin E is thinning of the blood which means it should not be taken with blood thinners. Of course, a new study I have shows that vitamin E is not at all counterindicative with blood-thinning pharmaceuticals.

Too much vitamin C over long periods is conventionally believed to stress the kidneys. Of course, these conventional beliefs have been created and dispersed through medical courses and textbooks which are largely funded and subsidized by pharmaceutical companies.

If it was up to the pharmaceutical companies, the U.S. would outlaw vitamin C without a prescription and then overcharge for dispersing it when a patient develops scurvy.

Of course, with vitamins, it's better to have a little than none at all. Also remember that organically-grown vegetables contain 10 to 100 times (NOT PERCENT) more minerals than those grown with pesticides (study from U. of Florida on a large variety of vegetables).
