I bought some peppermint oil today. Great stuff. It is toxic in large quantities though. I noticed that it is used in enteric coated capsules for IBS at 0.2 to 0.4 ml 3 times a day. That works out to around 5-11 drops per dose. I guess I will try a dose of 3 drops 3 times a day mixed in 2 ounces of water, and see how that goes. I was surprised to see toxicity associated with high doses of peppermint, although the oil is very strong concentrated stuff. I have use peppermint tea for years, but that is nothing like peppermint oil.

Peppermint is antifungal, and antibacterial, and antiparasitic.
