Last week I did my first round of chelation in several weeks. I took just 25 mg of ALA every 3 hours. On the third day of chelation I developed a fever of 102.4, and swelling in the gum around one tooth. Does this mean there is plenty of mercury in the gums there, or perhaps mercury in the tooth? After 2 days of 102.4 fever, my temperature finally dropped to under 100 today. The swelling is going down. I am afraid to do any more chelation. Any thoughts?

Maybe Mercury in that TOOTH! Make sure it is all out before you EVEN TOUCH THIS STUFF! I guess a good X ray would show it? I tried a parasite cleanse the other night and had a fever and felt like I was going to die! Detox can do that sometimes, I felt really hot (And not in a good way lol). I would make sure you have all mercury out before touching any of this stuff, it could leave you literally brain dead I read or messed up permanently if you have some in your tooth whilst taking this.


BTW to anyone ELSE in here who can answer this, I had an X ray with my tooth in by a holistic dentist and he showed me the black spot from the Mercury, and I said do I have any more hidden and he said thats what I am checking for (Never got back to me though) and didn't say a word later except you will feel better year after year. Is the X ray accurate on seeing the tooth and is all of it out? He seemed to think so and he is the holistic dentist so.

i hope there is no mercury in the tooth, and perhaps just in the gums around the tooth. The gums around this tooth were bothering me before the amalgam in it was replaced.

If mercury was sealed inside the tooth under the new material I don't think the gum would react the way it did.

I'm not sure what it could be though...but its definitely an area to keep your eye on in the future.

Wow that's a crazy side effect to have especially the fever. You said it was bothering you beforehand. Is it possible there is some kind of localized infection or abscess? That just seems a little too coincidentally to have swelling around the gum and a high fever. Perhaps when the amalgam was replaced it allowed infection in?

Perhaps you are just feeling the side effects of ALA? They can be pretty wicked from what I've read. I'm certainly not looking forward to that in the coming months.

If you think it's the ALA causing it, then I would probably stop chelating with it for a few days and start over with a lower dose. It's better to be cautious.

It seems like a localized infection, but the last time this gum bothered me was 6 months ago, before the amalgam was replaced. It seems too coincidental that after 6 months of not bothering me, it suddenly flares up when I do chelation for the first time in around two months. That side of my face is also swollen, so it isn't just the gum. The gum seems to be the center of it, and the tooth hurts quite a bit when I chew something with it. This just started two days ago, coinciding with the fever. That is when I stopped this chelation round. now that I think about it, my lower gums on both sides were bothering me a bit before I started the chelation, and they seemed to stop bothering me after
I started the chelation. I have only had pain and irritation with my lower gums.

brush with salt water and baking soda, put a dab of hydrogen peroxide on it and rinse out. it will hurt like heck but do it anyway, it will feel much much better within 10-20 minutes.

probably just a coincidence. if your face is swollen there is definitely an abcess in the tooth and your dentist is going to tell you need a root canal which you should forego in favor of losing the tooth. unless of course the idea and expense of a root canal doesn't bother you (research it) but you'll probably only lose the tooth within 5 years or less anyway. root canals never really cure an abcessed tooth.

I'd dab some clove oil on it too after the h2o2. swish clove oil around your entire mouth. Goldenseal root is a very effective anti-bacterial also. You can swallow that.

Yeah I agree, this sounds exactly what happens to me when I need a root canal. The tooth almost feels a little loose if I bite down on it. If you are going to get a root canal, check out calcium hydroxide. Here's a good website--the webdesign is terrible, but the information is great.

They can use that in the tooth to "clean" it rather than the other stuff that never ever works.

You'll have to find a dentist that knows how to use it though. They need to leave it in the tooth for 4-6 weeks and then place a composite. DO NOT allow the dentist to fill the tooth in 1 visit.
