Yes, miriam, I have had these symptoms of numbness and tingling for years, on and off. I have found that taking magnesium helps. Also, I have had the hoarse voice. That was due to hypothyroidism. I take medication for that now. Just this morning, I read a naturopath on the topic of iodine - saying that we don't get enough. I have heard otherwise. He says that not enough iodine leads to hypothyroidism. He says that even if you have autoimmune hypothyroidism it is good to take iodine. Other sources say no. I know this much. If I take Iodine, I feel better. You might want to check on this. Other symptoms of hypothyroidism: lethargy, weakness, sore joints, constipation, dry skin, wiped-out feeling, sometimes double vision, feeling cold, "brain fog" - memory problems, heavy periods, infertility, miscarriages, inability to lose weight - or weight gain with sensible eating, etc, etc, etc

I have these problems too. I found glucosamine helped, but I cut it out because of sulphate, and vitamin c also seems to help a little. I'm trying to get more exercise in as sitting in one position can contribute.

My legs always feel heavy. My arms always feel weak.
During my lecture on friday my arm was feeling so weak i wasn't even comfortable writing.
I've never experienced numbness or tingling. I get pins and needles sometimes though.

I had a strange pain in my foot for months, and then rather suddenly that portion of my foot went dead, ie, no sense of feeling. A part of my foot was in-sensate for c. 3 years. It was not on & off, the back & heel of my foot were dead 365 days a year.
After using the detox foot patches on & off for awhile, the sensation returned. A total of about 27 patches were used. Is this "scientific"? No. It is my personal experience and that is all I can say.
I originally thought that you didn't have to supplement while using the patches, but an article I read by a woman convinced me that I should add some minerals (I only did a few times, though).
Animals feel pain & suffering just as we do, and they value their lives as much as we value ours.

You should be tested for diabetes as that is one of the symptoms.

Hi, I've used the feet detox pads after my fillings removals and they were very dark in the mornings right after the last fillings removal until lthey became lighter and lighter each morning. I used up 20 pads and noticed my vein circulation on my lower calves improved a great deal by the end of the 20 days I no longer get even slight leg cramps.
I didnt mention I used these in my past posts, but since you were brave enough to mention using them..... ;-)
After this, I figured i'd keep my good luck going and bought a Rebounder and now excersize more to keep the body fluids flowing in the right direction.
I just ordered 20 more pads and plan to keep them on hand in my emergency preperation health arsenal-- (government enforced vaccinations, illness, etc)
They dont cure diseases nor does the company I get them from claim they do.. They are good for slight detoxing to use along with other body cleanses. They work for me- that's all I know! I keep an open mind on such things as NOONE- not even doctors- know everything there is to know about the human body.
Diabetic symptoms in the lower limbs can cause numbing, burning or stinging, so it's also good (as Anonymous suggested) to get your blood sugar tested. I feared I was Pre-Diabetic once and got tested-- but they didnt find anything.
There are alternative health things you can do that can actually reverse Diabetes in some people. My mother knows an elderly couple who reversed theirs by cutting out all starches, refined sugar and flours. Their doctor told them, "whatever you are doing, keep on doing it "
Food additives in our every day commercial foods actually cause or create Diabetes in many people.
Hugs boldy

Miriam, I used to get these alot- and occasionally do now if I sleep on my arm during the night.
You know what I reccomend for you- as well as getting your blood sugar tested for diabetes, and detoxing-- and taking magnesium?
Get yourself over to the nearest drugstore and buy some EPSOM SALTS!! Take an Epsom Salts bath (or at least sponge bath and soak your feet in it if you dont have a tub!))
The magnesium from the Epsom Salts does soak into your body and enter your bloodstream very quickly.
Within a half hour you will feel as though you took calming tranquilizers (especially if using two cups in a warm bathtub) and it is an alternative way to absorb magnesium in a magnesium deprived body . As Laura and Russ mentioned before- if you have mercury issues- you are deprived of magnesium and selenium anyway.
I've done these simple baths and now I will never be without Epsom Salts!

I'm going to try the epsom salts <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> My grandmother always swore by them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I've been taking the alginate for 2 weeks now and this past week I only woke up with pins and needles once. This is an improvement for me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have been feeling numbness, tingling, and burning in my feet. My middle toes on the left feel as if they are swollen on the underside, but do not appear so. Weird! Anyway, I am going to try taking chlorella (sp) which is supposed to detoxify the body of heavy metals including mercury. Do not take any fish oil or eat fish unless you are sure it is lab tested for mercury. The chlorella takes a couple months of regular use before you may notice feeling better and before it is working at its max. Always give the holistic approach sufficient time to do its job and then you can say for sure whether it works or not. When I start my treatment, I will not stop for at least 4 months or so and if it works, I will shout it from the highest tree. Anyone out there tried this? Thanks

Hi! yes I am taking Chlorella every night (1000 mg of Chinese Chlorella)
along with 2 capsules of Algin. I wont take Chlorella without Algin- as I heard it can spill alot of mercury it sponges up in your body. The Algin acts like a mop and mops up what Chlorella spills.
I have had no bad symptoms at all by taking it with Algin.-- in fact, I've been taking it now since September (my last tooth filling removal) and have noticed a gradual improvement in my thinking and memory.
I know Chlorella doesnt cross the blood brain barrier-- (and I have to wait til December before I can start with the Alpha Lipoic Acid-) but i notice my mind is more clearer anyway- and I dont have to reach for words when I hold a conversation.
Also- about the 2nd week after taking the chlorella and Algin each night- I had that BLACK foul smelling bowel movement the next morning.-- I think it sponged up alot of mercury in my digestive tract-and that's why it was black. I continue to take 500 mg of activated charcoal with this Chlorella, etc-- but I havent had another black bowel movement since that time.
Other items i take along with the Chlorella, Algin and Activated Charcoal are Butcher's Broom, Beet Root, and Licorice root, and this Humectite stuff called "Metal Magnet"
If you take Chlorella- you must take it with Algin. You wont have any mercury side effects that way.
Also- if your feet tingle , you may benefit from those detox foot pads. They do work fast. I had itchy feet before I used them, and the next morning it was gone.
You should also try nightly foot baths with epsom salts/baking soda /sea salt. Or else that Bentonite Clay in water..

I'm taking chinese chlorella and according to the ingrediants there's lipoic acid in it (it doesn't say "alpha" though, i'm unsure if that's important).
I thought chlorella moped up the mercury....

I was thinking last night about all this (I'm an insomniac, I think a lot in bed, lol) and I remembered that the week after I had my amalgam filling shaved, I had real bad pins and needles in the night. I was on holiday so thought it was an unfamiliar bed, but it was terrible. One night I had to get up and go on the balcony and another time I had to walk around the hotel at 3am in the morning. Since then my anxiety and compulsions have shot up aswell and before the summer I was tryiing everything to help from magnesium to milk.
