Hi Russ,
I have been having issues with the forum for sometime. I have only just decided to post about it and wondering if anybody else is experiencing the same. Today I just got fed up with it.
Everytime I am using the forum, at some point my requests (e.g. clicking on a post, or clicking out of the forum etc) become non responsive (nothing happens). It can also occur after I have typed up a post and click the "submit" button, it will telling me it's already submitting and nothing will happen. This plus non response to clicking on forums or posts means I am continually clicking out of the forums altogether and having to start from scratch so my requests will get through. This is everyday and it's been going on for a long time now.
Is anybody else experiencing this? IF not, then perhaps the issue is with my computer. However, my brother's (who has broadband) computer also seems to have some issues loading the forum sometimes and I've often given up bothering. Though mine will eventually load the herballure forum, the other problems continually occur and eventually I have to click out of it and start again. I am lucky I copy and paste my post before I send it, because often it won't send at all and I have to click out of it all and start from scratch and paste my response back up again.
Sorry for the complaints Russ, I just don't understand why these things are happening. It gets frustrating.

OK, I'd like to diagnose this.
If you don't mind, please make a list of the next several times this happens. Please include:
- The time it happened (and your time zone).
- The link you clicked just before it happened (for example: "Edit" a post, "Quick Reply", "Who's Online", "Forum List", the name of a forum...to enter it, etc.)
And please send this to me. I really appreciate it as it would be a great help in diagnosing.
The one problem I am currently aware of is this: When you go to make a new post or reply, it takes quite a while for the page to load. I know this is because there are so many graemlins and I have considered removing some of them.
Do you have a delay with that page as well?
Thanks again for your help.

Hi Lynn, Yes, that is exactly what happens to me. I am glad I am not alone in this. Even my brother's computer and the fact he has broadband and up-to-date software, also has issues with the herballure forum (not always). Sometimes it will just load halfway and that's it. Thanks for letting me know Lynn. Russ, I have windows 2000 and I use internet explorer. But again my brother has all the up-to-date stuff and even his computer has a few issues with your forum.... I think you're right though, I reckon it's accummulative - from going from one forum to another and post to post, where eventually it just mounts up and stops responding and won't load anything and I have to click out of everything and come back in. This only ever started since you altered your forum months ago.....this never used to be an issue if I recall. I still come on here and will continue to do so regardless. It's frustrating, but at least I can still get on and read and post

Hi Lynn, I don't have broadband myself, I have dial-up and the problem happens on my computer and my brother's (who has broadband). So I assume there is an issue with the new format somehow? I have one other issue also. My msn hotmail account, which annoys the heck out of me. This never used to happen. Yet I now find that often it won't respond to me clicking on emails. So I have to then refresh the page and wait until everything loads again and then try again by clicking on someone's email and seeing if it'll respond so I can read it. Sometimes I have to refresh a few times and wait till it all loads properly before anything I click my mouse on will actually respond and I can then read the email and reply to it. A few other oddities too on hotmail that I've noticed occuring that never used to be there. Hard to explain, but EXTREMELY irritating. Just glad I also have another email account! So I am honestly not certain what is going on. But this forum and hotmail are the only two places I've noticed this problem occuring. Except with Russ', I have to actually click out of the entire site. Refreshing the page doesn't tend to work! PS no problems for the misunderstanding But that wasn't related to this problem here. The one on that particular thread was just odd. The layout of it was distorted somehow. Russ fixed it though!

Thanks and cheers to you too! A couple months ago, I began helping someone get their domain name back from a web designer who had wrongly (fraudulently?) registered it in their own name instead of the name of the client they were working for. His name is Mike Corrales, and he founded a web design/hosting company named First Web Media. This company has a fake "suite" from "Rent-A-Mailing-Address" and has an 800 number listed on their website that has long been disconnected. http://www.linkedin.com/in/mikecorraleshttp://www.crunchbase.com/person/mike-corraleshttp://firstwebmedia.comRent-A-Mailing-Address https://www.mailnetwork.com/cgi-bin/orderone.cgi?action=gola&goodcitykey=200Google Search for 1050 Bishop StreetWe originally politely contacted Corrales for weeks. After we realized that he was not willing to cooperate (something that would cost him nothing to do except literally 2 minutes of his time), we continued by seeking remedy from the registrar (SRS Plus), but it was in vain. They were completely unwilling to help at all. With no options left, we finally threatened to sue Corrales and report him to the State Attorney of California, the state in which he lives. Within two days after we made this legal threat against him, email accounts on our server were signed up for every possible spam house you can imagine. Our server has been flooded with mailing lists, spam, backscatter, bounces, false bounces and everything else ever since. It's secure and protected, but it sure has been busy. Of course, this does not definitely mean Corrales did this, but it sure looks suspicious, especially considering that this kind of thing has never happened before. The woman I was attempting to help has worked tirelessly building a successful business on her domain name for several years and is now completely unable to get the name back from Mike, even though she paid for it. She is unwilling at this time (although on the fence) to put the time and money forward to follow through with the lawsuit and filing reports. She is being forced to change all her literature and re-market her business with an entirely new domain name and email addresses. She is very upset about the losses she has suffered as a result. When I spoke to SRS Plus (the registrar who has the power AND authority to EASILY correct this situation), they said they were unwilling to do anything about this situation because they were concerned about their contract with their client Mike. I clearly and politely explained to them how Mike had wrongly taken the domain name that was paid for by someone else into his custody and would not release it. They simply don't seem to want to be bothered with doing what's right. For this reason, I hope anyone considering doing business with SRS Plus will carefully consider using another company, such as GoDaddy, which seems to have better policies and a better record of moral behavior in these types of situations. Mike Corrales is also associated with Greenest Host: http://www.greenesthost.com/He is the founder and CEO: http://www.greenesthost.com/team.phpAll I can say is I hope people who use this company to host their websites make sure the domain names they pay for are correctly registered in their own names so they can be sure they don't lose it like my friend lost hers. Or better yet, don't use Greenest Host at all. Use GoDaddy or someone else. Sorry this is so long. I just think it's important to get the truth about these things out to protect people against this kind of injustice. It makes me sick seeing people like this market themselves as wonderful—"caring for the environment"—type people when they obviously don't give a darn about their own customers (once they have their money).

Well, this is sickening and it's the kind of thing that can really start eroding ones trust in people (if it weren't for the good). I have experienced or heard similar behaviours from those who were in a position of trust (and seemed "good") suddenly turn around and do something so deceptive. People like this to my mind are worse than petty thieves. They have a veneer of goodness and are very good at what they do (deceiving genuine people). There are apparently even some evangelists that have also fallen into the money corruption trap and use all means of manipulating their Christian audience to gain more money out of them. It's those types of people that tend to give the rest who are doing good, a bad name. Very sad. Well Russ, it's HIGHLY possible/probable that this guy is involved with the excess emailing. I think it's just a bit too coincidental don't you? Interestingly enough Russ, after I exposed a certain individual for dubious practices over the internet, I found problems occuring with my computer and someone else at the sametime also exposing them, had a few things occur also. I still don't know if they were involved, but it does make you wonder. When I took the computer in to get fixed, the computer tech had big problems getting things back up and running. He found is very strange. I'm not sure if this individual even has the means to perform such a thing, but I suspected it might be possible OR they may know people who can So I have a better virus scanner than before and a firewall up, and hopefully that will not happen again! Whatever is happening Russ, you can be sure someone is probably onto you and this is certainly deliberate. Amazing what happens when you try to fight evil. There is always a back-lash. They hate being exposed for what they do and will hit back any chance they get.

So true. It's bad enough when someone does evil things. It's another thing when they try to project a shiny, polished image. This guy could have literally given this domain back to the owner with 2 minutes of his time, but he would not. The funny thing is that it has more to do with pride and a power kick than anything else because he's not currently profiting from the domain name, although it's a good name that he could resell in the future. Perhaps that's what he has in mind. I cannot stand people like this. For those reading this thread, remember to avoidGreenest Host http://www.greenesthost.comand First Web Media http://firstwebmedia.comfor unethical business practices.

Russ, it is still happening as badly as ever. Right now I am stuck on page 2 on this thread typing this. I first went to page 3 to check the newest post, then to page 2 to catch up and now I cannot get onto page 3 again. I click but nothing happens, not even signs anything is starting to load.
yesterday was also very bad. Russ, I honestly can't tell if the problem lies with your forum, or something else is up. Since there are issues on my hotmail account too. I also noticed the other day, I was surfing the net and then I clicked up on my favourites list to get onto herballure from there and it wouldn't respond.
So is it the net? My computer? Your forum? My firewall?
It doesn't seem to matter what time of day it is, morning, noon, night.
I actually clicked the submit button after I typed the above and nothing happened. So I was in the process of copying and pasting it to close out of the window and come back into herballure and for some reason it suddenly started to load.
I also note down the bottom of the screen where the words are that show what's happening and a bar where it loads, there there is this small icon that looks like a yellow triangle type shape with a black explanation mark inside of it. I also see "error on page" or "loaded, but with errors". Sometimes I see the words "javascript" and I see that often when I'm trying to load a page and it's not working. (this goes for hotmail also).
I find the whole thing odd. I am wondering if this is honestly only happening to a few of us?

First, There's no need to worry about the yellow triangle that reports errors on the page. I'll save you the explanation, but that's not a problem. About the touchpad, it just sounds like some features of the page have been disabled for some reason. Probably just some conflict between devices, or it may just be a warning for convenience, that is, to remind you to turn on the "advanced" features before you try to do anything complicated. About the forum... I'm still not sure what happening for you. Our machine and software was just tuned and is running better and faster then it has in years. It must be something else. My first guess would be that a lot of memory is being used on your computer when you come to this forum because some of the pages are big. Here's how we can tell... Does the hard drive (the light on the front of the computer that tells you the hard drive is working) turn on and stay on most of the time when this delay is happening? Also, click the Start button, then click control panel, then click the "system" icon. How much memory ("KB RAM") does your computer have? I also use Win 2000 but I normally use Firefox, but I have tested the forum (just now) with IE and it works fine. You probably have version 6. Second guess: It could be some page scanning software related to anti-virus on your computer that is preventing the page from working correctly. Here's how we can tell.... First, what browser version are you using. To find this out, click HELP, then ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER. This will tell you the version number. If I were you, I would be using Firefox as your browser. It's much more secure than IE 6. It also has more features. Here is where you download it: http://firefox.comIt may also fix the problem, if the problem has to do with IE or some kind of spyware that's been tied into IE. I'll keep an eye on this thread and we'll see if we can get it worked out.
