I read that eating carbs but with little or no protein helps the body create serotonin. I was on a low carb diet for a long time, then ate carbs together with plenty of protein. Some believe very low serotonin levels might be the cause of fibromyalgia. I think this might be true, since drinking licorice tea helps boost serotonin levels, and seems to help with fibromyalgia. I am also trying to eat plenty of complex carbs but with little protein at that meal. It is tough though, since most complex carbs occur with protein, and I don't want to eat simple sugars.
