Hi there i'm Lixxy. I'm a 33 year old singer and i have been suffering from acid reflux ever since i had my fillinges put in. I got 8 fillings put in about 7 years ago. My story is that about a week after having the fillings put in i started losing my voice. My shows were suffring and i did not know what to do. I ended up quiting singing cause one doctor told me that my vocal chords were scrap and could never sing again. So instead of slapping him silly i believed him and headed streight for a depression. My depression lasted 3 years, up until i met this vocal coach that sent me to one of the best voice doctors she knew. This doctor finally told me that i was sufering from acid reflux. Hmmm yes this is my fault that i led to believe the other doctor. The thing is that i had read up on silver fillings and acid reflux and just pushed it aside. That was my second mistakes. I can not afford mistakes anymore. I just signed a record contract and my album will be out this spring and i need my voice in top shape. I have been on Nexium for the acid reflux for about 3 years now and want to get off. I am just wondering if i get my fillings replaced will this truely improve my health or am i damaged forever.

What I heard, is that if you drink a little bit of apple cider vinegar everyday, it will CURE acid reflux....all those meds out there just cover up the symptoms...it may take a few weeks to a few months, but I heard it will definaely cure it....so try that...good luck with everything...Sandra P

Hey Lix, I had the same problem for many years and it went away immediately after my fillings were removed out in July of 2000. My problem (we called it heartburn at that time) was so severe that I ended up doing some research and found that it is caused by a low acid condition in the stomach. Mercury interferes with the processes that produce stomach acid. When acid is low, gases form and work their way up and eventually result in hearburn. In my research, I found that the solution was very unlikely: Add more acid to the mix. I had trouble believing it but since it was from medical literature, I tried it. Worked perfectly; Instantly, the problem was gone. I just had to be sure to add acid to the mix with each meal. Worked wonderfully. Here is a link to the actual product I took to solve the problem: Food Enzymes About getting better... Yes you can get better. My whole life has changed and nearly all of my 17 physical symptoms and my 5 or more emotional symptoms are gone. Having my fillings removed was the single most dramatic physical change that ever happened in my life, by far. If you're interested, here's a link to my personal story: My Mercury-Amalgam Story Don't give up on your music career or your vocal cords. The body is capable of amazing recoveries.

In the not-too-distant future, nobody will be laughing.
This is a very serious issue that affects more people than any other health issue in history (in my opinion), AND it is caused by man, not nature.
I know several people who's dentist got mad at them when they brought this issue up. I believe it's because the dentist have been made liable for this and the ADA (American Dental Association) has removed itself legally from all responsibility, even though they have been the one's who have pushed amalgam's use so hard.
""The American Dental Association (ADA) owes no legal duty of care to protect the public from allegedly dangerous products used by dentists. The ADA did not manufacture, design, supply or install the mercury-containing amalgams. The ADA does not control those who do. The ADA's only alleged involvement in the product was to provide information regarding its use. Dissemination of information relating to the practice of dentistry does not create a duty of care to protect the public from potential injury.""
The Superior Court of the State of California Case No. 718228, Demurrer (October 22, 1992)
Good luck and keep pushing on!

Ah Man you do not know how i'm gonna push on!!!! I just thaught of something. I read up on the net that acid reflux causes damage to your teeth. So this works just great for those dentists out there I'm sooo mad right now. Getting my teeth fixed in the first place cost me loads of cash not to mention all the nexium i took for this prob. If you calculate the darn meds are aprox 80$ a month, it's been 4 years and now i have to pay to get the fillings removed This definately needs to get out!!!!!!!

Lixxy Lixxy, Sometimes acid reflux can be caused by other physical ailments, such as hiatal hernias. I'm not saying that the amalgams did not cause your problem, but it's only one of many possible causes. It wouldn't hurt to rule out other causes, if you have not already done so. I too suffered from acid reflux for years, but changing my diet and lifestyle is what cured it. It's possible that the amalgams were a contributing factor in my case, but I continued to have my amalgams in well after I was better, with no additional problems. Again, I'm not suggesting that is the case with you, but there can be other causes. The fact that your problems began shortly after your fillings were placed is good circumstancial evidence to support your suspicion though. Good luck, Tom

Hi Tom. Thank you for taking the time to come give me more info. I would like to know what hiatal hernias are if you could explain it to me. I truley do eat so much better. I do not eat acidic foods, no onions no fat no sugar no coffee. Well to tell you the truth it kinda sucks to be me right now But it's all ok, i know i do it to feel better. I have searched and tried so many things and i am not rulling out other things. I even checked up on alergies to certain foods. This is not my first attempt to fixing this prob. This is just truely something that i just have to do. You know when you have that little voice inside that just tells you something, well it's been on my mind ever since i had the fillings put in.
Thax again!

That is why you should incorporate apple cider vinegar into your diet...it is alkaline..not acidic like other vinegars...it takes the acid out of your stomach....yes acid reflux hurts your teeth...it wears down the enamel...especially the insides of your lower front teeth...it erodes your teeth...Are they sens. ???sandra P

You might want to try magnesium also. I'm not sure the connection other than the esophagus sp) is a muscle and when your are low in magnesium (caused by the mercury toxicity) your muscles contract, but have a hard time relaxing after the contraction.

If you're going to try drinking apple cider vinegar, make sure you brush your teeth afterwards. According to information I've read, the vinegar can damage tooth enamel over time. For more info: Apple Cider Vinegar. Some other suggestions for GERD (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease or Acid Reflux) are: Drinking Chamomile, Ginger or Licorice root tea as a digestive aid. Take Food Enzymes or other full-spectrum digestive enzyme supplement with meals (digestive enzyme difficiency can cause GERD) Take Gastro Health to destroy Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria that is linked to ulcers and other digestive problems Eat smaller meals more often and do not drink ice-cold beverages before or during a meal. Avoid citrus fruit, chocolate, milk, soft drinks, coffee and alcohol. For quick relief and digestive help, I've had several people swear by Stomach Comfort. These are chewable tablets with no aluminum, preservatives or artificial ingredients, and they don't have that "chalky" taste. What's really good (and different from other antacids) is they DO contain digestive aids like ginger, licorice and papaya fruit.

Thank you all sooo much!! I'm geting verrrry anxious for my dentist to replace my fillings with white fillings. My first appointement is on the 13th of feb, (this month). I will be seeing him every week following that on the 23rd and the28th. I can't wait to see the difference in my digestion. I'm finally off the Nexium for my stomach, it's been a week and a half now. I had been on it for 4 years. Boy let me tell you that i have been getting acid rebound ever since but they say that it is only normal to get that after stopping. They say that it will only last a few weeks or so. Well i'll be here to keep you all posted on how things are going every week.
Thanxs you guys for supporting me. XxXx
