Kirkman is a very good company their products are O.K..
A person I spoke too at Kirkman said it's the Stevia in their products from an outside source.
My daughter and other children besides I heard have been shown to have a very elevated amount of Antimony in their Urine Toxic Metals lab tests..
Did not know where the exposure came from at the time..
It was very elevated we were surprised..
But I checked what products my children are taking and it's not on the recall list so it could be be from another Stevia source.
So just in case, there is more contamination of Stevia out there.
I buy Stevia at the store and have phoned a few places about it plus I found Stevia is in the Natural Calm Flavored Peter Gillham's they take everyday for years..
Phoned them about it the possibilty they were very helpful about it so was SweetLeaf Sweetner haven't got a phone call back from Traders Joes yet.
It has to be from another source not Kirkman for them..
Remember that Kirkman is a good company when they found the source they recalled it and no longer deal with the source anymore..

Important: Kirkman Recall

- Kirkman just sent us the following letter, explaining that several of their products have been discovered to have unacceptably high levels of Antimony,
a toxic metal, in them.
The specific products and lot numbers are listed in the letter from Kirkman, below.
These lots may have been sold anytime within the past several years.
We have already eliminated the contaminated stock from our shelves, but some of you may have some bottles of these products at home.
If so, please call Kirkman directly and they will replace them for you.

Antimony is a metal that can be chelated with DMPS or DMSA.
If your child is already chelating, this may have been a source of extra Antimony excretion on the Urine Toxic Metal tests.
Patients who were chelating will have been excreting much of the excess metal already.
If your child has not been chelating and was taking the contaminated products, then you may want to call the office to set up an appointment to start chelating.

Dear Kirkman Distributor,

It has come to Kirkman's attention, that a raw material supplier has been supplying Kirkman with substandard quality material that is higher in antimony content
than what would be considered acceptable to the special needs community.
Raw material suppliers are actually not required to test for antimony levels routinely, so this problem did not come to our attention until
a physician using Kirkman products brought the issue to our attention.
We immediately had our laboratory research the issue which they quickly isolated and linked it to a specific raw material.

We have stopped using this material and have located and purchased a quality replacement which we will begin using immediately.

We are asking that if you have any of the following products which utilized this material in your inventory, that you destroy the products and request credit or replacement
with new lots when they become available.
Call Kirkman customer service to make these requests.
The products involved include all lots of the following products:

1. Zinc Liquid: Product #387/8 and 387/16
2. Super Nu-Thera w/o A and D: Product #447/454
3. DMAE 50mg, Chewable: Product # 489/90
4. Super Nu-Thera Powder Orange: Product #410/454
5. B Complex Powder Pro Support: Product #399/7
6. TMG w/Folinic and B-12 Powder: Product #413/4 and 413/8
7. Chewable Vitamin C Tablets: Product #389/100 and 389/250


Kirkman regrets the inconvenience associated with this issue, but Kirkman will not compromise our quality standards that we have stood for throughout our existence.

which is one danger in buying over-the-counter supplements that have no quality control.

So I can feel that what my daughters use are safe.
Very Glad they have a Bio-Medical MD in this day and age of possible contamination in products.
Of ingrediants.
It can happen & they all need to test their products more often.
Thats why I posted this because they should.

What Are the Symptoms of Antimony Poisoning?
Antimony is in the same chemical group as arsenic, another metalloid mineral.
Thus, many of the signs and symptoms of antimony poisoning resemble those of arsenic intoxication:

•Small doses or limited exposures to antimony and its compounds can cause depression, headache, nausea, or dizziness.
•Acute exposure to large doses usually causes severe vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and numbness or tingling in the extremities.
Left untreated, significant intoxication can cause death within a few days.
•People who are chronically exposed to relatively low doses of antimony can exhibit varying degrees of the abovementioned symptoms.

Of course this concerns me as she has had some rashes and abdominal pain and explosive bowels, diarrhea ect..
She was in stomach gas pain one night pretty bad..
And in a very highy upset & aggitated state..
Her mouth is red all around it and up one cheek constant licking , though it's alot better now.
She has Antimony at high levels coming out for sure.
So I assume that it is causing this for her.
Antimony is never good to ingest like good for you..
I believe..
It's not easy to get out either she is chelating..
To get it out..

Still not sure where she got the antimony from.
I feel better about Sweetleaf as their Stevia is not from China.
And they phoned me back and said they did not find it in their product.
Anything from China expecially is something to be careful about.
Lots of tainted products in the past have come from there.
