I have been diagonised with Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Raynouds, Vasculits, and Sjorgens. I have suffered with the symtoms since I was 14 and now am in my late 30's. Symtoms are getting worse with each passing year, to the point where I don't know where to turn and what to do anymore. If it weren't for my two kids and husband I would have probably thrown in the towel a long time ago. I was so excited to find information online about mercury poisoning and thought "this is it! Maybe there is hope of leading a normal life again!" Went right to my Dr office, shared the information with him and he said yes go to the lab and get tested for mercury poisoning. I have at this time, 10 mercury fillings in my mouth. 3 teeth have been removed recently that also had fillings in them. Well the test results came back today and they are on the low side of normal. This was heartbreaking to me and almost the last straw. Do I still have the filling removed? I dread doing this because anytime I go to the dentist I have a major flair in my symtoms, even if its just for a routine checkup and cleaning. I don't know how much more I can take. Please if you have any advice I am listening.

I have heard that most (or all) of the standard medical tests for mercury are very unreliable AND that many of them have results which are deceptively low. I have heard this for years from many sources including people in the field.

According to the books below and other sources, it is very important to have several different types of tests performed, and then have someone properly trained in the evaluation of these tests (in the context of mercury toxicity) make an evaluation of the tests.

The second book is the most comprehensive book I've found on the subject and is a great tool to give (or loan) to your doctor to help him diagnose you. It was written by a doctor partially for that purpose... to help other doctors.

Needless to say... Information is exactly what is necessary to deal with and especially to diagnose this problem. Diagnosis is a complicated subject and needs to be handled by an experienced specialist.

Also, if you do decide to have fillings removed, be SURE to have them removed by a properly trained dentist, otherwise you could receive a very high exposure to mercury during the proceedure.

From a common sense point of view...

I would also consider?as you said in your message?that your symptoms flair up every time you go to the dentist. That accounts for something and should be considered also.

I cannot stress how important it is to find the right person to conduct and interpret the tests which are performed.

I personally believe a large number of people each year have "standard" mercury tests which return false negatives and prevent them from finding the true cause of their illness.

Make some calls. Check the Internet. Keep searching. Find someone who you can verify is properly trained, has done this before and really knows what they are doing.

If you know that your current doctor is one of these, then great. Perhaps it's time to look for another cause, but don't be discouraged... there is indeed a cause. No illness just happens. There is always a cause. Just find it, eliminate it and your life may dramatically improve. It happened for me and can happen for you too.

A very low mercury hair analysis is a sign of mercury also, anything below 0.4 ppm or above 1.5 When your body starts stuffing it in your tissue it's not as visible. Especially if other metals are high and minerals are low.
