Hello
I am 40-years old woman from Finland. I?m so glad I found this site! I am going to amalgam removal next friday, 9th January. I?m very excited! Now I?m on antioxidants to prevent possible side-effects on the procedure.
I am taking now C-vitamin Multi-B-vitamin Magnesium Zink Selenium A+E ?vitamins MSM Garlic Acetylcystein
Hope all above works fine. Here in Finland we don?t have any IV-detox-treatments.
I would like to know about living with the new fillings. Am I going to be sore, are my teeth aching? Am I able to eat and drink? Is there anything spesific that I should do after the procedure? How long would it take to get rid of all amalgam-symptoms?
The stories in this site are great and very encouraging. Hope my story will be like them...
Sincerely,
Marie

I thought it was unwise to take MSM while you still have amalgam fillings in your mouth. What is everyone elses opinion on this?
Several months ago, I began taking MSM, and I started feeling really sick. The distributor told me this was die-off. I ended up spending a lot of money ($225) on the MSM. Then I read that MSM contains thiol groups which mobilize Hg from tissues and into the blood. So, I wanted to return the MSM, but the distributor would not accept it.
I have asked the following question several times, but I will ask again: when will I be able to take MSM again? Is it safe after I remove my amalgam fillings; and, if so, how soon after can I take it.

Thank You for your advise!
I have had terrible migraine during several days, so I left MSM away too. Now when know why it does that, I'm going to be more careful with it. Vitamin-c hints are taken too.
I will keep you posted after the removal.

Thanks for answering my question. I may experiment with the MSM after I get my amalgams removed. I'll let you know.

Today is the second day without amalgam! And I feel great. My new teeth are so beautiful, like pearls!
The procedure took 3 ½ hours. My dentist removed 8 fillings. The new fillings are a little bit too high, so it's slightly uncomfortable to eat. She is going to drill them lower next friday.
I'm still taking all the antioxidants (without MSM). I have to lower the dosage of Acetylcystein because it's causing me stomach upset and nausea....
I'm so relieved that the removal is over, it all went well and was not so horrible that I assumed. Now the recovery and healing can really start...

Since yesterday I have felt feel pretty bad. I have headace, dizziness, nausea and anxiety. I wonder if I should go to hospital to check my mercury levels. I am taking all the detox-medication that my dentis mentioned. We don't have any IV-treatments here.
What should I do now? Is it better to wait for couple of more days? Is this gettig worse or better? Any experience?

Marie, I went through the same things. In fact, when you wrote that you felt great a few days ago, I was going to reply and say, "get ready", because many people will go through a roller coaster ride in the months immediately following. I did. You can read about it here. Also, the following suggestions may help. (these ideas are thoughts based on my own personel research and experience only). Consult your qualified medical practitioner for information: - Take lots of Vitamin C - Avoid caffiene and sugar. Both are extremely addicitive and just getting off of them will rock your world - Avoid all seafood - Avoid sulphur (MSM, eggs, etc.) - Take Algin. This is by far the best herb I've found for mercury detox. I have "feelable" results within an hour. - Lots of good water (not tap water) - Avoid fluoride (bad stuff, contrary to popular belief) - Raw fruits and veggies, low meats, low carbs, but mostly veggies - If you're an "O" blood type, you may want to supplement your diet with 1 serving of protein powder drink per day. - A concentrated "green" drink is great too. I have 1 serving of NSP protein powder mixed with 2 heaping tablespoons of NSP Green Zone 5 days per week. I feel the difference. - Stay encouraged! The research I've done shows that if you feel good immediately after, and then bad within 24 to 72 hours, it's a likely sign of detox. If the fillings were removed in "inverse voltage" order, it greatly increases the chances (~20% vs. ~80%) of triggering your body into detox mode which will obviously raise blood-mercury levels. This will make you feel bad but is a good sign. - Remember, detox from mercury is a lifestyle, and well worth it! I'm 3.5-years post removal now and still have symptoms when I workout hard. These symptoms are completely manageable with supplements and diet, especially after the first year?for me. It takes time. You've had exposure for years. It will take years to detox. If you're experience is anything like mine, you will have a wild ride for a few months, but slowly, things will "even out". Nevertheless, I'm cannot tell you how happy I am that I did it. I have my life back and it's changed the course of my life in every area, dramatically. With the pattern you've seen (good feeling immediately after, and then downhill in 24 to 72 hours), you are hopefully on the same track. Keep us posted. ---------------- PS - I REALLY want to add this too... I would be really careful with "detox" supplements. After the experience I had, I believe SLOW and STEADY detox is the only way to go. Whenever I tried using any detox-promoting herbs or homeopathics, Laura and I (Laura is my business partner) would get very sick. The only thing I use now is Sun Chlorella and Algin. As an example, we (Laura and I) ate at the Cheesecake Factory restaurant one evening (Tampa). The appetizer had just a little Cilantro?a well-known mercury expellant used in many detox forumlas. We didn't realize it until after when we both began feeling a little "sickly" (headache, tired, mild nausea, and irritable) about an hour later. Then it hit us. I tried a Cilantro-based herbal detox soon after the removal and was sick the next day. I'm a big believer in herbal supplements. In fact, my company researches and writes about them and there is NO lack of research available, contrary to what the mainstream media will tell you. Nevertheless, because of the potent toxicity of mercury, especially when it gets into the blood, I would tell people to be very careful with any detox supplement as they usually promote the expelling of mercury into the blood, which I believe should be done slowly and naturally, especially soon after the removal. In cases where a person was suffering very visible mercury symptoms before amalgam removal, I would not take any kind of expellant for the first 6 months to a year, only a binder. If the removal was performed properly, your body will likely begin to detox itself at a rate it can handle.

What brand of Algin do you use?? I´m just wondering if we have that algae-supplements here in Finland? Are we talking about that kind of thing that lies under water? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Is there a web-site, where I could order that Algin stuff?
