God is the greatest communicator, always revealing exactly what He wants us to know about Himself, about one another, and about the world around us. Romans 1:20 gives assurance that every person in the world can know that God exists:

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

God has indeed revealed Himself through what He created. It just takes a willingness to look around and appreciate His majesty, and then to glorify Him because of it. Of course, His final authoritative revelation--the Bible--leaves no room for doubt, but we ought to consider how awesome God is when we observe the wonder of what He made.

ICR has developed a wonderful resource for readers on our website--the Evidence for Creation--and we present below just one portion of that resource, called God's Attributes Are Revealed.

-Nature Reveals God's Power
A small reflection of the power of our Creator is seen in the thousands of stars shining in the night sky. Galaxies are millions of stars packed close together. And billions of galaxies fill the universe. The amount of power displayed in the heavens is overwhelming, if we take the time to look up at night and think about it. This reveals God's power at the cosmic level.

Everyone can appreciate sun-power. The sun lights our days so we can see nature all around us. (Even a blind person can feel the warmth of the sun.) Our sun and other stars are bright because they radiate energy, both visible and invisible. Some of this energy radiating from the sun is needed, directly and indirectly, to power all life forms on earth. Some of the other energy, also very powerful, is harmful to life.

The energy that is useful to life is a very small part of the spectrum. That part is also the part that we can see. Due to our Creator's laws of physics, visible light is the best energy for the chemical reactions of life. Unlike high-energy radiation, such as x-rays and gamma rays (which harm living cells), visible light enables human eyes to see, plus it powers plant growth, the foundation of all food chains on earth. Even the energetic behavior of little bugs ultimately depends on sun-power.

God's power extends from wonders great and small that we can observe in our awesome universe, like the sun and stars (which look small to us, yet are huge in actual size).

-Nature Reveals God's Presence
God's presence can be detected even in the most commonplace substances, like water. All of us have physical bodies that are mostly water! Our planet is close enough to the sun to provide the liquid water that is necessary for life. But if it were just a little farther away, all that water would become ice!

While water itself is a very small molecule (just a three-atom unit of hydrogen and oxygen), it is a primary ingredient of our planet. God's design of how water's specific molecules behave (and the impact water has on our entire planet) is an example of God's creative design and custodial presence, even on the smallest and largest scales.

Water expands when it freezes, unlike most other substances. Ice and snow take up more volume than the same amount of liquid water. This makes water denser as a liquid than when frozen, so ice floats. If ice did not float on the surface of the water, the floors of oceans and lakes would be covered with glaciers of ice that would never melt. Surface ice also helps regulate the climate by reflecting energy.

As a liquid, water's temperature range is perfect for cycling water from the oceans to the land. Water requires a lot of energy to evaporate into a vapor and it releases this energy when it condenses back into liquid. This balances temperatures in the earth's climate, as well as inside living cells. If less energy were required for evaporation, then streams, rivers, and lakes would evaporate away quickly.

Beautiful clouds and sunsets inspire praise for the Creator who forms them. Because God's creative presence is shown in even commonplace yet needful things, we are blessed by the huge quantities of water that flow through our biosphere.

-Nature Reveals God's Protection
If the earth had a thinner atmosphere, our planet would be hit with incoming rocks and harmful radiation. Mercury, Pluto, and the moon have almost no air at all. Their surfaces are scarred with craters from the impacts of giant boulders, little pebbles, and small grains of sand. The surfaces of these planets are very hot when facing the sun and very cold when facing away. If earth had a thicker atmosphere, our planet would be boiling hot. The weight of the atmosphere on Venus and the "gas giant" planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) is very heavy. On Venus, for instance, the surface pressure is 90 times that of earth! The surface pressure of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are even higher.

Earth has the right mixture of nitrogen and oxygen in its atmosphere. Venus and the gas giants have the wrong kind of gases for humans (or any other life forms) to survive there. Venus is mostly carbon dioxide. The gas giants are mostly hydrogen and helium. The other planets have little or no "air" at all. Truly, the very air we breathe is an invisible yet universal witness to God's protective providence.

Sunlight reaches us through our transparent atmosphere. Even though we can see through it, our atmosphere is also a filter. It allows in the sun's radiation that is useful to life, but blocks the radiation that is harmful to life. Only a fraction of the radio waves and some of the visible light and infrared radiations are blocked, but almost all of the harmful ultraviolet rays, x-rays and gamma rays never reach us.

We have been given an atmosphere that protects us. It provides just the right amount of air and warmth we need. It allows the sunlight to reach the plants that feed us. Our transparent atmosphere not only protects us, but it allows us to the see the stars and wonder at the heavens. The question is: are these marvelous devices merely accidents, or are they evidence of incredible design by a Creator?

-Nature Reveals God's Provision
Why does the earth provide edible food? If the planting and harvesting of crops were not so commonplace, we would (or should) regard growing cycles of corn, beans, fruit trees, potatoes, or any other plant as amazing miracles.

The sun's energy warms our planet. Hot air blows from areas heated by the sun to cooler areas. The sun's energy brings rain. Water evaporates from the ocean and falls to the land as it cools. The sun powers the winds that move the water vapor to the land. The sun's energy renews air. With our sun's energy, plants convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. The sun's energy grows food. Plants capture sunlight and store it in sugar, starch, and fat.

Many other stars are too hot to support life. Many are too cold. Some vary from hot to cold too much. Some stars are too big and some are too small. Our sun is one of the few types that is ideally suited to support life. It has the right brightness and variability. It radiates the right range of energy in the right amounts. Most stars in the universe are not perfectly balanced for life, but our sun is.

There are thousands of examples of an integrated and purposeful plan for provision through the flora and fauna of our planet. Everywhere one looks, if one really tries to understand what is going on, it is easy to see an Intelligent Designer behind the common, everyday occurrences of our world.
-Nature Reveals God's Wisdom
Wisdom enables us to understand reality. Through wisdom we have discovered a set of scientific laws that elegantly express reality in the language of mathematics. Whenever man learns the logic of the universe, man is (in essence) "thinking God's thoughts after Him." A correct "understanding" of understanding, therefore, is that we humans discover (and implement) wisdom; we do not invent it.

In particular, the cause of our universe coming into being, and of its continuing to operate as it does, is a dynamic display of the Creator's wisdom, some of which we can scientifically discover and understand. When we do, it is like walking in the footprints of someone who previously walked through a snowdrift.

It is only by God's creative grace that human creatures like us can think any thoughts at all, much less thoughts that are logical and analytical enough to be called "scientific." Because God's wisdom is displayed in the universe itself, and also in our human ability to comprehend that universe, we owe our great Creator-God an ongoing debt of creaturely thanksgiving.

YOU don't have to gaze long at the night sky to marvel at the wonder of God's awe-inspiring handiwork. The massive stretch of galaxies and the cloudy mass of our own Milky Way remind us of the spectacular creation and the sustaining work of Jesus by whom it is all held together (Col. 1:16-17). It's as though all of us have front-row seats in the theater of God's creative power.

But the nightly show we experience is nothing compared with the glory that God displayed when He sent His Son to Earth. While shepherds were watching their flocks, the sky was suddenly ablaze with angelic messengers praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest!" (Luke 2:14). Even Magi from a foreign land came and worshiped the King when God planted the brightest of stars in the east, which led them to Bethlehem.

While "the heavens declare the glory of God" nightly (Psm. 19:1), never before or since has the theater of the universe been more alive with His glory than it was with the announcement that the Creator of this universe loved us enough to come to our planet to save us from our sin.
Keep that thought in mind the next time you marvel at the stars!

--Tragic Ignorance

“For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God” (Romans 10:3).

There are several important doctrinal truths about which unbelievers-and sometimes even Christians-seem tragically ignorant, with an ignorance affecting their very lives and destinies. Perhaps the most tragic is that mentioned in our text. Paul was writing specifically of the Jews, but the same ignorance is found in countless others-people who seek to earn salvation by their own religious and moral works rather than through faith in the imputed righteousness of Christ, who died for their sins.

There is also widespread ignorance concerning death and life beyond the grave. "I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him" (I Thessalonians 4:13,14). With respect to Christian life and ministry, Paul says: "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant" (I Corinthians 12:1). Yet most Christians neglect to develop or use their gifts, mainly because of ignorance concerning their proper function as described in I Corinthians 12-14, Romans 12:3-21, Ephesians 4:7-16, and other key passages.

We urgently also need to be instructed concerning the deceptions of the wicked one: “lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices” (II Corinthians 2:11). For all who seek instruction rather than ignorance, let them study God’s word, for “all Scripture . . . is profitable for . . . instruction in righteousness” (II Timothy 3:16).

--Creation And The Sciences

“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them” (Genesis 1:27).

The first chapter of Genesis is the foundational chapter of the Bible and, therefore, of all true science. It is the great creation chapter, outlining the events of that first week of time when “the heavens and the earth were finished, and. . . . God ended His work which He had made” (Genesis 2:1,2). Despite the evolutionists, God is not creating or making anything in the world today (except for special miracles as recorded in Scripture), because all His work was finished in that primeval week. He is now engaged in the work of conserving, or saving, what He first created.

There are only three acts of special creation—that is, creation out of nothing except God’s omnipotent word—recorded in this chapter. His other works were those of “making” or “forming” the created entities into complex, functioning systems.

His first creative act was to call into existence the Space/Mass/Time cosmos. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). This is the domain which we now study in the physical sciences.
The second is the domain of the life sciences. “God created . . . every living creature that moveth” (Genesis 1:21). It is significant that the “life” principle required a second act of direct creation. It will thus never be possible to describe living systems solely in terms of physics and chemistry.

The third act of creation was that of the image of God in man and woman. The study of human beings is the realm of the human sciences.

Our bodies can be analyzed chemically, and our living processes biologically, but human behavior can only really be understood in terms of our relation to God, whose image we share.

FOR 2 decades, ecologist Mike Hands has worked to help farmers in Central America adopt more effective methods of growing their crops. It's difficult, however, for them to abandon their long tradition of "slash and burn" agriculture, even though they know it destroys the soil and pollutes the air.

So instead of merely talking to them, Mike shows them a better way. In the documentary film Up in Smoke, he says: "It has to be demonstrated. You cannot preach it. You can't describe it. People have got to be able to get their hands on it and see it."

Paul took a smililar approach to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He wrote to the believers in Corinth, "My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God" (1 Cor. 2:4-5). Later in his letter, Paul told them again, "The kingdom of God is not in word but in power" (4:20).

As you live each day, ask God to help you accompany your words with actions. When we allow God to show Himself through us, it's a powerful demonstration of His grace and love.~~

For nearly 40 years, the Institute for Creation Research has conducted scientific research founded on two fundamental principles. The first is a bedrock belief that the biblical record is accurate and authoritative. The second is an unwavering commitment to research using sound science.

As our name implies, ICR's focus on research deals with origins, most aptly described in Genesis 1-11. The scientists working with ICR in its labs and on the field are men and women who are specially trained in the disciplines of geology, genetics, paleontology, astro/geophysics, astronomy, and other fields of science. Can we be certain about these issues?

Can man live life based on a certain foundation that will accurately guide him on earth?

Do human beings exist with certain absolute distinctives from other creatures?

Can it be shown with certainty that creative design exists everywhere in the world around us, thus eliminating random chance as the primary developmental process?

Does the animal kingdom display certain observable and creative differences between kinds that are explainable only by design?

Is there evidence here on earth that demonstrates the existence of a certain and personal Judge over all creation?

Can people know for certain that this Judge and Creator exists and desires a relationship with them? [YES!]

THE apostle Paul said that our faith would be completely worthless and counterfeit if Jesus' resurrection were not the real deal. It took bravery and confidence in God's plan for Paul to say, "If Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty" (1 Cor. 15:14) and "If Christ is not risen your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!" (v.17)

The Christian faith rests on the authenticity of this story: Jesus died on the Cross and was raised from the dead. Praise God for the clear evidence of Jesus' death and resurrection (vv.3-8). It's the real deal, and we can stake our eternity and our total dependence on God's Truth. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Jesus is alive!

---Knowing Him

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” ----(1 John 5:20)-

John uses two words for “know” in this short letter, both of which are used in the final instruction to his readers. The Greek word 'ginosko' is used 25 times throughout this epistle, stressing knowledge that is gained through personal experience. The other word, ei’do (or oi’da), is used an additional 17 times, emphasizing mental understanding and comprehension.

---The Intellectual Confidence

We “know [ei’do] that he was manifested to take away our sins” (1 John 3:5). We “know that we have passed from death unto life” (1 John 3:14). We “know that [we] have eternal life” (1 John 5:13). We “know that we are of God” (1 John 5:19). We “know that the Son of God is come” (1 John 5:20). All of this “head knowledge” is, of course, straight from the Word of God. These are the basics of our belief in the work of Christ.

--- The Personal Experience

We “know [ginosko] that we know [ginosko] him, if we keep his commandments” (1 John 2:3). “There [are] many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time” (1 John 2:18). “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments” (1 John 5:2).

Thus, our intellectual “knowledge” of God’s Word is “experienced” as we “work out [our] own salvation” (Philippians 2:12). Being “born again” is just the beginning. We should “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

After God's people were liberated from Egypt, He gave them a Commandment that would cause them to slow down and view Him and the world "in pause." The fourth commandment introduced a dramatic contrast to the Israelites' slavery under Pharaoh when they had no break in their daily work routine.

The Commandment insisted that God's people set aside one day a week to remember several important things: God's work in creation (Gen. 2:2), their liberation from Egyptian bondage (Deut. 5:12-15), their relationship with God (6:4-6), and their need for personal refreshment (Exod. 31:12-18). This was not to be a day of laziness, but one where God's people acknowledged, worshiped, and rested in Him.

--Jesus Christ Our Creator

"For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him" (Colossians 1:16).

Before one can really know Jesus Christ as Savior or Lord, he must acknowledge Him as offended and rejected Creator, because He was our Creator first of all. This is such an important doctrine of the New Testament that it is remarkable how rarely it is emphasized in modern evangelicalism.

Creation by Jesus Christ is the doctrine with which John begins his great gospel of salvation: "In the beginning was the Word, . . . All things were made by Him; . . . and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not" (John 1:1,3,10). It is the foundational message of the book of Hebrews: "God. . . . Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds" (Hebrews 1:1-2).

The apostle Paul said that he had been called specifically to preach "the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 3:8-9). When a person becomes a believer in Christ, receiving His very life by the new birth, he is said to be "renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created Him" (Colossians 3:10).

In the final book of the Bible, Jesus Christ is called the "Alpha . . . the beginning . . . the Almighty" (Revelation 1:8), as well as "the beginning of the creation of God" (3:14).

But of all the Biblical passages identifying Jesus Christ as Creator, the most definitive of all is our text for today. Everything in heaven and earth was created by Him, and for Him! "For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen" (Romans 11:36)-

--One Sacrifice Forever

"But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God." (Hebrews 10:12)

Ever since Cain and Abel brought their offerings to the Lord in the first generation, and Noah "offered burnt offerings on the altar" after the Flood (Genesis 8:20), and then especially after God through Moses established the regular tabernacle offerings, including "the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings" (Leviticus 9:22), it has somehow been understood everywhere that God (or "the gods" in pagan cultures) must be approached and appeased by sacrificial offerings, with innocent animals substituting for those offering them.

This was still true among Jewish worshippers of the true God even in Jesus' day, and they all understood that "without shedding of blood is no remission" (Hebrews 9:22). In those days, "every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins" (Hebrews 10:11) just tentatively "cover" them.

But no more! Now, in personal faith, we need simply to "behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). "For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified" (Hebrews 10:14). When we put our full trust in Him, "we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all" and He has promised that "their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. . . . there is no more offering for sin" (Hebrews 10:10, 17-18). - ----

"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. . . . For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry" (Hebrews 9:28; 10:37).

--Did Jesus Teach Recent Creation?

Most everyone has been taught all through their school years that the earth, life, animals, and man have all been developing from primordial beginnings over billions of years of natural evolution. Many have tried to "baptize" this process, so to speak, by calling it "theistic" evolution or "progressive" creation saying that God may have used evolution as His process of creation.

Because of this ubiquitous indoctrination, even many evangelical Christians have felt they must conform to this evolutionary worldview, especially in relation to the so-called "deep time" that is so essential to evolutionism. One respected leader of the "Intelligent Design" movement, for example, recently wrote to me that he would prefer to believe in a "young earth," but that science had proved that the earth was very old, so he had to go with science. Two other leaders of this I.D. movement told me personally on two separate occasions that they could not even afford to listen to my arguments for a young earth because they were afraid they would be convinced and that this would halt their opportunities to speak to college groups and others about Intelligent Design.

So I have written this brief article to show once again that the Lord Jesus Himself believes in recent creation and the young earth. Assuming that a Christian is a person who believes in the deity and inerrant authority of Christ, it would seem that this fact should be sufficient to convince him.

What I will do here, therefore, is to list three key reasons for concluding that our Lord Jesus Christ believed and taught literal recent creation of all things essentially instantaneously by the omnipotent command of God, who "spake, and it was done" (Psalm 33:9).

----The Bible nowhere allows for long ages.

---One can search the Scriptures (see my book Biblical Creationism for proof) from beginning to end without finding even a hint of evolution or long ages. To Jesus, every "jot or one tittle" of Scripture was divinely inspired (Matthew 5:18) and He warned us severely against adding any other words to it (Revelation 22:18). The Bible, therefore, would certainly not leave the vital doctrine of creation open to human speculation.

The Bible explicitly states how and when creation took place.
Although many evangelicals have long equivocated as to the meaning of the "days" of creation, this type of ad hoc handling of Scripture is never justified in the context, and Christ Himself would never have interpreted them as indefinite ages of some kind. Not only is "day" (Hebrew, yom) defined in this context the first time it is used (Genesis 1:5), but the writer conclusively restricted its interpretation to the literal meaning by numbering the days ("first day," "second day," etc.) and by indicating their boundaries ("evening and morning"), both of which restrictions elsewhere in the Old Testament limit the meaning to literal days. The question seems to be even more firmly settled when God wrote with His own finger that "in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the [seventh] day, and hallowed it" (Exodus 20:11), thereby basing our calendar's seven-day week on this primeval creation week. Jesus referred to this divine example when He said that "The sabbath was made for man" (Mark 2:27) to meet our weekly need of rest from work.

The Lord Jesus recognized that men and women existed right from the beginning.
The current opinion is that the cosmos evolved about 16 billion years ago, the earth about 4.6 billion, primitive life perhaps two billion, and human life about one million years ago. The Lord Jesus, on the other hand (who was there, having Himself created all things—note John 1:1-3), taught that men and women were made essentially at the same time as the cosmos itself, when He said that "from the beginning God . . . made them male and female" (Mark 10:6). "The beginning" obviously was a reference to Genesis 1:1, and Christ was specifically citing Genesis 1:26.

On another occasion, speaking especially of Adam's son Abel, He referred to "the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world" (Luke 11:50-51), thereby acknowledging that Abel was the first prophet, martyred in the very first generation—not 4.6 billion years after the formation of the earth. Jesus also said that Satan, using Cain to slay Abel, "was a murderer from the beginning" (John 8:44).

Note also that the father of John the Baptist, prophesying when filled with the Holy Spirit, said that God's holy prophets had been predicting a coming Savior "since the world began" (Luke 1:70). Then the apostle Peter later preached that the second coming of Christ and the ultimate removal of the great Curse on the earth had even been events that "God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began" (Acts 3:21). The apostle Paul wrote that evidence of God as Creator should have been "clearly seen" (by men, of course) ever since "the creation of the world."

There can be no reasonable doubt that Jesus was what evolutionists today (both theistic and atheistic) would call a "young-earth creationist." It would seem that this should settle the question for all true Christians, who should certainly—on the authority of Christ Himself—completely reject the notion of geologic ages.

But they don't! For one thing, not all who consider themselves Christians really believe the Bible, especially its unpopular teachings. Unfortunately, many who think they are Bible-believing Christians have become adept at "wresting" the Scriptures (note II Peter 3:17), even the recorded words of Jesus and the apostles, to make them conform to the scientism of evolutionary speculation. As noted above, there is not the slightest suggestion of millions and billions of years anywhere in the Bible when it is taken simply to mean what it says. That is why we "young-earth creationists" have to keep on reemphasizing the pervasive Bible teaching of just thousands of years of earth and cosmic history.

But what are we supposed to do when the Bible disagrees with the majority of scientists on such matters?

We are to believe the Bible—that's what! When the teachings of men conflict with the Word of God, it would be wise to go with God.

Furthermore, there are now thousands of scientists (fully credentialed with post-graduate degrees from accredited universities) who have become convinced believers in recent creation. No doubt we are still a minority, but it is a growing minority. There are several hundred such scientists in the Creation Research Society, not to mention those on our ICR faculty as well as those associated with numerous other creationist organizations around the world.

There is also a rapidly growing body of scientific data that not only shows the impossibility of macroevolution but also much that repudiates the so-called evidences of "billions of years." Creationist geologists have been developing an abundance of evidence of global catastrophism instead of uniformitarianism in earth history—thus confirming the Biblical record of the great Flood as the major explanation for the fossil-bearing rocks in the earth's crust, instead of having to invent imaginary long ages of evolution to account for them.

It is possible now even to amass a list of dozens of worldwide natural processes (e.g., accumulation of salt in the sea) which, even on uniformist assumptions, will yield ages much too brief for evolution. Thus, even without referring to the Bible at all, it is possible to make an impressive case for recent creation. One cannot determine the exact age of the earth by science, of course, and these various processes may yield various values, but all prove too small for evolutionism to be possible.

With the supposed exception of radiometric dating, that is. The decay of uranium into lead, rubidium into strontium, and a few other such processes can be made to show extremely long ages, so radioactive decay processes have been considered by evolutionists to be firm proof of the billions of years.

But Christians need to remember that such calculations, like all the others, are based on the arbitrary assumption of uniformitarianism, which not only is unprovable but contrary to the Bible. The apostle Peter calls it "willing ignorance" (note 2 Peter 3:3-6) when this assumption ignores the world-changing impact of special creation of all things in the beginning and the worldwide geologic impact of the global Deluge in the days of Noah.

Furthermore, the forthcoming publications of the ICR/CRS RATE Initiative will show strong scientific evidence that even these radioactive decay processes really provide convincing arguments that the earth is thousands of years old—not billions!

Therefore, we plead once again with our Christian theistic evolutionists, progressive creationists, gap creationists, and intelligent design minimalists to come back to the Bible for their view of the world and its history. We should most certainly believe the words of our Lord Jesus Christ on this vital subject. "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord," He might well say, "and [believe] not the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46).

--The Lord Our Shield

“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.” (Psalm 3:3)

The beautiful metaphor of God as our shield, and our protector from evil, is used over 15 times in the book of Psalms, the first being in our text above. The very first time it is used in the Bible, however, is also the first time the word “shield” itself is used. That was the time when God assured Abram, after his battle with the armies of the northern kings: “Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield” (Genesis 15:1). This was a great comfort to Abram, there in the land of the Canaanites, where evil and enemies surrounded him on all sides.

But consider also a few of the many “shield” promises in the book of Psalms. One of the most beautiful and most uplifting is Psalm 84:11: “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”

And consider also this wonderful promise: “As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler [same word] to all those that trust in him” (Psalm 18:30). In the same psalm appears this great testimony: “Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great” (Psalm 18:35).

Three times in Psalm 115 appears the injunction to “trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield” (Psalm 115:9-11). Similarly, “thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word” (Psalm 119:114).

The final reference in Psalms to the Lord as our shield is “Blessed be the LORD my strength. . . . My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me” (Psalm 144:1-2).

--Exploring the Evidence for Creation~

--After reviewing some of the previous posts with 'Proof for Creation', God always give each person a 'choice' to whether receiving Him (Jesus), as their Savior, or turning away and rejecting His 'free-gift', of salvation, He paid by dying on the Cross. "Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin." This topic demands your utmost attention, because where you spend eternity is at stake here.

The Lord is not willing that any should perish we read in Peter's Epistle. So He has made a way of escape. Everyone is invited, but only 'FEW', we are told in scripture, will lay their pride aside and 'Come to the Father'.

--Whosoever Will May Come

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.” (Joel 2:32)

“God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34). Yet in the above “whosoever” passage of the Old Testament, it is clear that those who “call on the name of the LORD” were the same as “the remnant whom the LORD shall call.” Those who call on the Lord have first been called by the Lord. He accepts all those who call on Him from every nation, but no doubt their geographical location to a large extent determines whether they will even hear of Him, and “how then shall they call on him . . . of whom they have not heard?” (Romans 10:14).

Theologians of great intellect have wrestled with these questions for centuries without resolving them, at least to the satisfaction of those of different mental persuasion. On the practical level, however, the Holy Spirit led Peter to quote this passage in his great sermon on the Day of Pentecost: “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21).

Peter was still speaking only to Jews, of course, but they had assembled at Jerusalem “out of every nation under heaven” (Acts 2:5). But then Paul made it forever plain that “whosoever” applied to everyone when he also quoted Joel. “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:12-13).
The Lord Jesus Christ Himself, on the very last page of Scripture, says: “Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17). So, whosoever will may come! One can contemplate later, with deep thanksgiving, the mysteries of the divine call, but first he must come, and if he so wills, he may!

--God Gave Them Up

-Evidence For Creation
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient” (Romans 1:28).

--This is a terrifying verse, climaxing the awful indictment (in Romans 1:18–32) of God against a world in rebellion against its maker. This burning passage begins with Paul’s declaration that God’s wrath has been revealed against all those who “hold the truth”—or, more explicitly, “hold down or suppress the truth” in unrighteousness.

Then, in a rising crescendo of testimonies of wickedness and resulting condemnation, one fearful clause appears no less than three times: “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts. . . . For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections. . . . God gave them over to a reprobate mind” (Romans 1:24,26,28).

As terrible as such judgments seem, the provocations were infinitely worse. They “changed the glory of the uncorruptible God” into idols depicting His creatures (v.23). They “changed the truth of God into a lie” and rejected Him as Creator (v.25). They subjected Him to critical philosophical scrutiny, and “chose not to retain God in their knowledge” at all (implied in the Greek “did not like”) (v.28). Thus it was that our God of all grace finally had to give them up!

But the frightening thing is that this dark scene not only describes ancient paganism. Every verse is also a precise indictment of this present evil, “post-Christian” world, as we almost seem to be reading therein a documentary of the 1980s. What a picture it draws of modern evolutionary humanism in practice!

-Yet the apostle Paul was still preparing to go to Rome, “not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,” for that gospel was then—and still is—“the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16).

--APPRECIATING GOD'S CREATION ~

“And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food.” (Genesis 2:8-9)

Everything in the garden of Eden was prepared for man’s enjoyment. In the time between creation and the curse, Adam and Eve no doubt fully enjoyed the vegetation (Genesis 2:5, 9, 15-16), the animals (vv. 19-20), the atmosphere and the weather (vv. 5-6), the rivers and the raw materials (vv. 10-14), each other (vv. 18, 21-25), and fellowship with God (3:8). But soon they rebelled and were driven from the beautiful garden (3:24), and ever since, mankind’s ability to enjoy creation has been shackled somewhat, for creation was distorted by sin, and the eyes of each one of us have become dull.
The second verse of the well-loved hymn “I Am His, and He Is Mine” describes a partial reopening of the eyes of a believer upon salvation, as a love gift from our Lord.

Heav’n above is softer blue, Earth around is sweeter green;
Something lives in ev’ry hue Christless eyes have never seen!
Birds with gladder songs o’erflow, Flowers with deeper beauties shine,
Since I know, as now I know, I am His and He is mine.

In His abundant love for His children, our Lord promises to supply all our needs once again. “Why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these” (Matthew 6:28-29).

Creation’s beauty waits to thrill us and instruct us. Our loving Father wills it so. But creation will be fully restored soon, and “the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing” (Isaiah 35:1-2). He beckons us to join Him in His kingdom.

--While God and I Shall Be

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)

--The final verse of the majestic hymn “I Am His, and He Is Mine” focuses on the unending love between the believer and God. (The previous post contains this lovely song, maybe scroll back? "Appreciating God's Creation"~~) As we read in our text, nothing can “separate us from the love of God.”

His forever, only His—Who the Lord and me shall part?
Ah, with what a rest of bliss Christ can fill the loving heart!
Heav’n and earth may fade and flee, First-born light in gloom decline,
But while God and I shall be, I am His, and He is mine.

Resting in such supernatural love, which lasts forever, begets peace and rest even now. Our Savior beckons, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Aspects of our present life may be temporary, but His love lasts forever. “The heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, .. . . but my salvation shall be forever” (Isaiah 51:6). “And even to your old age I am he; and even to [gray] hairs will I carry you” (Isaiah 46:4).

Consider the last line in the hymn. “But while God and I shall be, I am His and He is mine.” As long as either God or the individual remains, their love will last. “But the LORD shall endure forever” (Psalm 9:7). “He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5). Thus, the Christian “will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever” (Psalm 23:6). “I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:27-28).

--HOW IMPORTANT IS A RECENT CREATION?

--IF there were eons of pain, suffering, and death before the rebellion of Adam brought death into the world, then a whole sweep of biblical teaching is thrown into the black hole of allegory. Worst of all, the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus becomes unnecessary.

-"For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done."

--**The Substitution of Jesus Christ~
-In the Bible, physical death is identified as absolutely necessary to accomplish the atonement for sins. The Bible specifically teaches that "without the shedding of blood there is no remission" (Hebrews 9:22). This teaching is woven throughout Scripture. It is the "blood of Jesus Christ His Son [that] cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).

--**Only the Creator Can Conquer Death~
-The Bible says that death is an intrusion, a punishment for the creatures' rebellion against their Creator, and that one day there will be a restoration, a reconciliation of all things that will eliminate death. But the Bible also says death must be defeated. The Creator Himself must conquer it.

**The Creator pronounced the sentence of death (Genesis 3:19).

**The Creator will overcome death (1 Corinthians 15:20-26).

**The Creator has life in Himself (John 1:4; John 8:12; John 11:25).

**The Creator must give His life to give us life (John 10:11-28).
**The Creator grants eternal life to all who believe His words (John 12:50).

---GOD KNOWS WHAT WE DON'T KNOW~~

“I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.” (Psalm 119:75)--

One of the most perplexing aspects of the Christian life is trying to understand God’s purpose when defeat or affliction comes into our lives, thereby hindering or even halting our ministry and testimony for Him. Many have been the servants of God who were sincerely working for Christ, seeking to obey His will and His Word as best they understood them, but then suddenly were laid aside by sickness, or had their ministries stopped by the enemies of God (sometimes even by fellow Christians), or for some other reason, and could not discern why God allowed it.

-- What then? When affliction comes, we must simply trust God, knowing that whatever He does is right and that our affliction is invested with His faithfulness. He is our Creator and, through Christ, has also become our heavenly Father: “Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?” (Hebrews 12:9). He knows what we don’t know, therefore we can “know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

This verse (Romans 8:28) is one of the most familiar and most wonderful promises in the Bible, but it is one of the most difficult to believe in time of affliction or loss. Nevertheless, it is God’s promise, and “all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

God knows the end from the beginning, and in that wonderful day when Christ returns, “then shall I know even as also I am known” (1 Corinthians 13:12). Until then, we must simply trust Him.

---THE EYES OF OUR FATHER JEHOVAH GOD~~

--"The word of God
...judges the thoughts
and attitudes of the
heart." (Hebrew 4:12)--

--The writer of Hebrews describes the Word of God as alive and active. Many have understood this "word" to be the Bible, but it's even more than that. Jesus is the 'living Word of God.' He evaluates our thoughts and attitudes (intents) of our hearts--and loves us still.

Jesus died to give us access to God's presence, all the time.
And while we all know it's not wise to share everything with everyone, we also know that God intends His church (people), be a place where we can live unapologetically as broken and forgiven followers of Christ. It's to be a place where we "carry each other's burdens" (Galatians 6:2).

What are you hiding from others and (trying to hide), from God? God sees us through Jesus. And He still loves us. Will we let Him come into our lives and be our Shepherd? That is the most important question you will ever answer. Jesus died for your (and my) sins, so we can lead others to Him.

Jesus last commission to us is to "GO AND TELL WHAT YOU HAVE SEEN." Christians see Jesus all around them. He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, veracity and truth. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."--(John 14:6) ~

---Jesus said, 'The Father and I are One." We serve a triune God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three equal 'ONE'. COME TO JESUS AND LIVE ETERNALLY.
