Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is designed to boost the supply of oxygen to ischemic tissue or to diseased tissues that respond to increased oxygen levels. Increasing the volume of oxygen dissolved in the blood plasma, produces five basic effects:

  • Reduction of volume of gas bubbles in the blood
  • Vasoconstriction, which reduces edema and secondary hypoxia
  • Restoration of aerobic metabolism to ischemic tissue
  • Detoxification of poisoned tissues
  • Enhanced phagocytosis

Dear Friends,

I promised myself I would stop saying Happy New Year after the 15th of January but for some reason I just can't! So here it goes, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I think my rational for continuing to say it has something to do with the fact that this is one of my favorite times of the year. Everyone is busy making resolutions, trying new diets, exercising and creating new plans for the future. There's a different type of hustle and bustle in the air and it's almost as if people are nicer because they've turned over a new leaf.

Often times many of the resolutions go to the way side due to time constraints and other priorities. This year instead of resolutions I made a constitution. A constitution, a way I want to live in 2013. At the top of my list is TO BE PRESENT in everything that I do. As a family just like yours, that is extremely busy with demanding schedules and special needs it's a rather large principle to live by. To make it easier on us I sought out resources from Dr. Jerry Kartzinel on picky eaters and at home activities to improve speech and language from Nicole Butler to remind us of the basics that help maintain our foundation for the crazy year to come.

Did you make a New Year's constitution, resolution or a plan? Share it with me on Generation Rescue's Facebook Page. I look forward to reading your responses and sharing my progress on BEING PRESENT as the year goes on.

Sincerely,

Candace McDonald
Executive Director

"I Believe My Son Will Heal" inspirational words from a grant recipient

"I am so encouraged by the difference we have seen in our two year old son! We started the gluten and casein-free diet a few weeks before the grant program and we noticed that he stopped regressing right away. He had regressed so much that he no longer used any of his 30 words. He rarely made eye contact, and was consistently grumpy and irritable.

Now, just two months into the grant, he has made amazing progress! He is learning and using more words, makes eye contact and engages in joint attention all day long. We can tell now that he did not feel well.

I'm very excited for the future and I believe my son will heal! I am so glad we started biomedical treatment early!"

- Aimee, Warrior Mom
