Has anyone tried homeopathy to help with detox and mercury poisoning symptoms.
I am several months post-amalgam but still feeling ill and am beginning to despair of getting well again. At the moment I am doubting if my illness is due to mercury. I suffer from ME/CFS and thyroid problems. Any advice welcome.

According to the research I've done, If the amalgams are removed correctly, you have an 80% chance of triggering the body into "detox" mode. This is where the body realizes that the chronic mercury source is gone and usually within 48 hours starts dumping it into the urine.
20% of the time, this process does not begin and you have to use supplements to "help it along". If this is the case, it's nothing to worry about. It just takes a little more work from you.
I have a few questions to help me understand why you are not experiencing changes. Don't answer them if you don't want to. I just want to try and find answers for you and those 20% who don't experience immediate improvements. I was among the 80% that did.
What were your amalgams replaced with? What is the name of the material?
Were they removed in voltage order?
Over what period of time were they removed? (one day, several weeks in 2 visits, several months in 4 visits, etc)
Are you taking any supplements now?
Were you taking any supplements before the removal?
How long were the amalgams in (when were they first placed)?
Do you eat seafood? If so, what kinds?
Do you eat pork? How often?
Do you eat eggs? How often?
Do you take MSM supplements? How much and how often?
Was a rubber dam used during the removal?
Are you on any other supplements now? If so, what?
Do you eat cilantro (vegetable)? How often?
If you're still experiencing these problems, there is definitly a reason.
Usually with careful experimentation, we can try and determine if you are among the 20% that don't naturally go into detox mode, and if so, work on triggering it in a safe and natural way.
Also remember that if you've had the amalgams in for 10-20 or more years, it's going to take a while to get it out. I'm about 4 years post removal (mid 2000) and I still take daily supplements and still experience symptoms under certain conditions.
If you answer the above questions, I'll be happy to do some research and see what the best next step is.
Thanks.
