Hi, was just wondering if anyone had tried the detox foot baths. Its like a foot spa bath that you soak your feet in and apparently it removes loads of toxins/heavy metals from you - well supposedly, just curious to see if anyone uses or has tried this, and if it would be worth doing. thanks

Yes Somedaysoon, I think we are talking about the same thing. I have wondered about this type of footspa for a while, and then thought stuff it, I'll go and get one. (Although you can go to a treatment room - or whatever and get a footspa done rather than buying one) The one I have is The "BioEnergiser D-Tox Spa" although their are many on the market i think. It says on the info about it -
" "it starts the process of rebalancing your body's BioEnergy. Effectively rebalancing the cells equilibrium of positive and negative ions which, in turn, "kick starts" the dispersal of unwanted toxins. The renewed re-balancing of the cells ensures rehydration resulting in optimum efficiency of their function to extract nutrients and dispose of unwanted waste"
There is a lot more info. about it on the instruction sheet I got with it. You just place a couple of spoons of special salt into the footbath with warm water and then place an energising cartridge (which comes with it) in the water. Then place your feet in for 30 minutes.
As I have seen on various sites where people are reviewing this type of footbaths, the water will change colour even if you do not have your feet in it, because as the information says, it is due to the reaction of the energising cartridge with the saline(salt) solution. But also there can be deposits floating on top of the water, apparently this is normal as one of the benefits of this treatment is" lymphatic drainage."
I have only used this twice so far think you need about 6 treatments in all and then maybe a maintenace of about one or 2 a month.
Is it helping pull the mercury out? can't say but I have felt better the last few days. Maybe just a concidence??!! I still have a filling under a crown, and I DO NOT want to remove that at the moment, I removed five mercury fillings at my normal dentist, - without precautions - stupid I now realise. Therefore I do not want to remove any more just now and put any more of a strain on my body. I thought if I did this it couldn't do any harm and if anything could help to remove some of the mercury - without stiring up any more. Well thats my theory anyway.
I should add though that I have ordered some of the clay bath too though, and intend to use this as well, although I think I will just start of using it as a footbath too.
Am thinking if I pull toxins through the skin rather than stirring up everything inside my body that it may not be so stressful.
Don't know if any of these things will work, but my opinion is that it surely won't make things any worse First day I used it I slept brilliantly that night - again maybe a concidence, I am wary of saying to much in case, I was going to be feeling better anyway, it is about 5 weeks since I had the fillings removed, maybe I would be feeling a little better anyway?? Although I was a few weeks back having problems with breathing and had to watch my sugar intake because I seem to be getting hypoglycemic I have been told this is because the removal probably affected my thyroid. This seems to have cleared up although I better not tempt fate as I am well aware this may come back again.
As I said I have been feeling better but maybe that would have happened anyway - who knows ??????

Somedaysoon I am in the UK, I get the feeling you are in America? I got mine out of catalouge but its uk based so that may not be of any use to you. If you do an online search and put in detox foot spa you should come up with loads of sites. As I said mine is called Bio energiser Detox foot spa, but there are others although the Bio energiser one seems to be the cheapest - well that i can see anyway. I have checked on e bay just now and they too have them there is one on there just now for about £129 (lthough some sites have the one I have for £179, and there are some that cost up to £400.) they seem to dispatch worldwide. You do need to buy more salt and a new energising cartridge from time to time (the cartridge is supposed to last between 30 and 50 times and your supposed to use it about 2 to 3 times a week.) but I think it is still more economical to buy the foot detox spa than to go to a place where you can get this treatment. Locally here you are about £30 a time to get it done, so even if you had the recommended 2 to 3 per week for 2 weeks you would be between £120 and £180 for just that block of treatments, not to mention as you say petrol to travel to and from where ever you are getting it done. Leastways if you are buying it you can do it as and when you want to.
As I have said I am not sure if it is helping or not, but I was going to go and get this done at a Health/spa place to see if it made me any better, when I found out the price of each treatment I thought it made more sense to buy my own. I just read that someone from Canada paid $65 for each session of this at their local Chiro place, and they said it made more sense to purchase one. I guess you should just browse on the web and see which one would suit you, I don't know if some are better than others maybe but equally you wouldn' t want to spend a fortune on it in case it didn't help you. I also thought that it couldn't make me any worse so what the heck I may as well give it a go.
Oh the only people that can't use them are : if you are pregnant, under the age of 10, have epilepsy, had a pacemaker fitted or has had organ implants.
I also intend to let the rest of my family use it as well, and see if they too also feel better from using it. I suppose time will tell!!

It is funny that I ran across your posting when I was researching the ionic foot bath. I have had it done two times so far and I feel better. My chiropractor just got one in her office.
I feel better. I think it does work. I have another one scheduled next week. I have fibromyalgia and all that come with it. I have been seeing a chiropractor who has helped me a lot through nontraditional methods. I have been doing NMT (Neuro modulation technique) and drinking XANGO. Actually the XANGO has changed my life. I am so much better.
At one time, I was tested for LUPUS they didn't exactly rule it out but said that it was a possibility. I took a bunch of drugs and no relief. I finally quit the drugs and found this doctor a couple of years ago and I feel so much better.
The ionic footbath makes sense. There was a lot of stuff in the water when I was done.
Good luck

I can reccommend several things that you can do to assist you body with toxic overload while you still have your fillings in.
Epsom salt baths help the natural detox process in the body by providing your body with magnesium. Magnesium is also used to make a protective lining in your gut. So its essential if you have leaky fillings to protect your gut. It also is helpful if you have yeast issues in your gut because yeast is the main culprit to creating a leaky gut.
Supplement with Glutathione helps the body process toxins too.
If you can purchase a champion juicer (durable) and juice veg. everday. Cilantro, Parsley, Kale, carrots, cerlery and garlic and fresh ginger root is my favorite. Garlic contains natural occurring allithiamine, a disulfide derivative of thiamine (vit B1). TTFD (thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) is a natural detox agent which is basically is a synthetic oounterpart of this ingredient in garlic.
When I had my leaking fillings in I was advised to avoid drinking hot liquids.
Its better to support your body in a daily natural detox process than to allow a build up. Speaking from experience, it's been three years since I had my fillings removed and I am still detoxing and rebuilding my systems. I didnt know I was full of Mercury, I was living in a cloud.
Hope this helps. On My Way

I purchased a D-Tox Foot Spa from www.gaiam.com for $200.00 and it was worth every penny. I had a terrible cold for about 3 weeks and could not get any relief and after one use I stopped coughing and forming mucus. I feel so much better. Great investment. I'm sharing mine.

If you do some thorough searching on this, you will find that they do absolutely nothing in the way of Detoxing. I almost bought one but decided to research it first and I'm glad I did. Many tests of the water proved there was absolutely no toxins and many companies who sell the products have now changed their pitch.

I am Steve at ionicoasis.com , here is a research paper we found recently on the internet about ionic foot baths. You can read it for yourself and view before and after bar graphs and pictures at http://www.aquadetox-international.com/research.htmlThe excerpt below has been taken from the article printed in CAM magazine in September 2005 and has been reproduced with the permission of Dr Sanjay Chaudhuri and CAM magazine. The purpose of the pilot study was to: 1. Ascertain whether the Aqua Detox has a scientifically measurable and reproducible effect 2. Answer the perennial questions. 2.1 What does the foot spa do? 2.2 How does it work? 2.3 What proof is there? 3. To learn lessons in order to create a fuller trial - e.g to create a dummy machine set-up that would reliably test a control group with the purpose of measuring and correcting for placebo effects. The charge created by an Aqua Detox medical array is minimal (– 1.7 – 2.1A) less than a fairy light. Therefore the scientific equipment we chose to utilise in our pilot study needed to be sensitive enough to measure the subtle physiological changes which occur immediately after an Aqua Detox. Methodology 6 test subjects aged between 18 and 70, consisting of 4 females and 2 males, undertook the following measurements before and after the 30 min Aqua Detox session: 1. Heart Rate Variability using the Health Express algorithm adaptability scale 2. Arterial Stiffness Indicator using Cardiotrack proven in clinical trials at a leading London hospital. 3. Blood Pressure and Pulse using an electronic meter which averaged 3 readings 4. Meridian stress testing using the Avatar electro-dermalscreening device employing the Energetix CMD 48 point probe protocol 4. Meridian stress testing using the Avatar electro-dermalscreening device employing the Energetix CMD 48 point probe protocol 5. Live Blood Microscopy phase contrast visual qualitative assessment using the Detox Doctor visual medicine protocol. A a pH and redox meter were used to ascertain changes in the Aqua Detox treatment water and asked our test subjects to describe how they felt during and after the treatment. The 3 control subjects were told they were to have an Aqua Detox treatment. The foot bath was prepared with Saline to increase conductivity to 2.1 Amps and the array was surreptitiously disconnected from the power unit for the same duration as the test subjects. No comments were made during the subsequent testing phase. The purpose of the control group was to assess the reproducibility and validity of our test protocol, particularly the electro-dermal testing. In order to standardise the study, we limited participants’ water intake to just 1 glass during the Aqua Detox treatment and ensured that no food, tea or coffee was consumed 2 hours before testing. Aqua Detox are now looking to conduct a clinical trial to enable Aqua Detox to prove that the Aqua Detox machine has a detoxifying effect and gain a product licence. Aqua Detox International Ltd contacted the MHRA in November 2005 to receive the medical definition of “Detox” so they could design a study to prove its detoxifying effects. As soon as we have the medical definition of the word Detox, Aqua Detox International will begin clinical trials. Below is a letter sent into Aqua Detox from a Ben L. Pfeifer, M.D.,Ph.D. Dear Mr. Bevan I want to apologize that I have been so out of touch. I was working in Asia during June and half of July and was overwhelmed with e-mail requests (50 on average daily) so that all my correspondence is late. We have received your machines safely and also put them to work with some of our chemotherapy patients. Our first impression is that the patients experience less chemotherapy side effects, in particular nausea and vomiting. Of course, it is difficult to determine whether they also have a positive effect on the haematopoetic and the immune system side effects of chemotherapy, which would really be great. To answer this question we would have to run a formal study, involving possibly some university oncologist (to make it undisputable if succesful) and have more patients enrolled. Our hospital does however not have the funds to launch such a study. If you are interested in a study of this type, please let us know whether there is any funding from your side - then at least, I would try to get a matching funding from the Aeskulap Foundation. I hope this brief up-date is helpful to you. Sincerely yours, Ben L. Pfeifer, M.D.,Ph.D.

You can try soaking your feet in bath salts. Say for about 20 minutes to get a good detox foot bath. Or you can try using some salt scrubs but use the finer salts.
