Hi Russ, up until a few weeks ago i was filtering tap water and didn't realise that it doesn't filtre out the fluoride, so i was wondering about detoxing it from my system, you mention calcium carbonate but i cant seem to find it anywhere, can you help, Thanks.

As far as I know, a reverse osmosis filter will remove fluoride, as will distillation. Am I right, folks?

In my research I did when considering what whole-house water filter to purchase, I found conflicting information as to whether or not reverse osmosis removes fluoride. Most of the claims that it does came from manufacturers of reverse-osmosis water filters. Most of the claims that it doesn't came from disinterested third parties. Frankly, I don't know which is correct. I did find non-opposed research saying the distillation removes fluoride. I also found a company that manufactures special fluoride filters: http://promolife.com/products/spech2o.htmI don't know much about them but I figure I'd post this link for those who may have time to check it out in more detail. This is the busiest time of the year for me so I'm not able to do much research at this time. If anyone else learns about effective ways to remove toxic fluoride from water, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

I've never conducted reverse osmosis measuremtnts to see if fluorides added to drinking water are removed well. But remember the natural calcium fluoride I wouldn't worry much about, being 25 times less toxic than the artificial additives because they are accompanied with sufficient calcium. It seems that if one's water is at a basic pH like ours here is, about 8, that little free fluoride ion would exist for the silicofluoride additive, but I don't know for sure. If so, the osmosis procedure one would think would work pretty well.We just need some data. richard sauerheber
