"Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? . . .)" (Ephesians 4:8-9).
This verse has been controversial, but is nonetheless very important. The context is taken from Psalm 68:17-20: "The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: . . . Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: . . . our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death."
The psalmist is apparently describing the Lord among His heavenly hosts, riding home as a mighty king returning with the spoils of battle. Evidently this prize of battle consisted of His own people who had been held captive in an alien land, but who now in turn had been captured from the enemy by the returning King. To do this, the King (none other than the Lord Jesus Himself) "ascended up on high," leading them to His own throne in the heavens.
But first He had to descend to the earth, and then even to "the lower parts of the earth." This unusual phrase must refer to the great pit in the center of the earth confining the souls of the dead--the place called Hades.
One of Christ's purposes on Earth was "to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound" (Isaiah 61:1). That is exactly what He did when He died on the cross for the sins of these very captives, then, in the Spirit, descended into Hades to set them free.
He returned with the very "keys of Hell and of death" (Revelation 1:18), alive forevermore. The souls of those who had died in faith came with Him, finally ascending with Him into "paradise," in "the third heaven" (note Luke 23:43; II Corinthians 12:2,4) to wait with Him for His future return to reclaim the whole earth.

A one world system is what Bible Prophecy said will come! At one time people who talked about a coming One World Government was considered laughable maybe too immersed in Bible Prophecy and dismissed. Now even the secular world talks about the One World Government " New World Order" to come as the world is full of believers now. But believers in what? Do they consider what the rest of the Bible has to say now? Maybe we all should! We Do!
Famines, Pestilence, Economic and Environmental Chaos
Instead of pondering over could this bone be the missing link? They should ponder over instead could this be the Sign of Things to come? Chemtrails, Vaccines and Evolution verses what this all could be leading to instead? Missing links will come and go but this world is not going to last as is, forever. They should ponder on that instead! The important things in life!
--Is Jesus Coming Back? Did He Die So That Sinners, Saved by Grace, Can Live?
--Yes and Amen! To both of those questions! Jesus came to this sinful world to die so that we, who choose to follow Him, can be saved by His Grace. The Choice is up to YOU. Do You surrender to Him? He loves you more than any person on this earth ever could? His death on the Cross was agonizingly painful, utterly humiliating (as Jesus took the sins of the entire world upon His shoulders, nailing them to the Cross), but necessary to win back what Satan took from humankind in the Garden of Eden. From eternal life, we fell to SIN! "Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin." It took a pure, sinless, perfect sacrifice for us to be allowed into the Kingdom of God. AND JESUS PAID THAT PRICE! Hallelujah! ---- --THE BIG -COMEBACK -1 John 1 ----- "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." --1John 1:9 ---- ---- -CHAD Pennington is a former American football player who has suffered multiple career-threatening injuries. Twice, his injuries forced him to endure surgery, months of physical therapy, and weeks of training to get back onto the field. Yet, both times he not only returned to playing but he also excelled at such a high level that he was named 'Comeback Player of the Year' in the National Football League. For Pennington, his efforts were an expression of his determination to return to football.
Spiritually, when sin and failure break our relationship with God and sideline our service, determination alone is not what restores us to rightness with God and usefulness in His Kingdom. When we are sidelined because of sin, the path to a comeback is confession as well. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
To recover from our spiritual failings, we are dependent on the One who gave Himself for us, our Creator Jesus Christ. And that gives us 'HOPE'. Christ, who died for us, loves us with an everlasting love and will respond with grace as we confess our faults to Him. Through confession, we can find His gracious restoration--the greatest of all comebacks.~~ ------- --Confession is the path that leads to restoration.~~ --Jesus, You're Just Too Good To Me. ~~ Thank you, Lord Jesus.~~ ---ODB/BC <http://youtu.be/bSXYm-5D19Y> --------
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6]
God the Creator completed His masterpiece by creating man and woman. God breathed life and spirit into this special handiwork. Though sin entered the world, God also provided for redemption from sin.
--Observation:
God created people with the freedom to choose or reject Him. Our ancestors Adam and Even chose to disobey God and the consequences have been handed down to us.
--Inspiration:
What God gave Adam and Eve, he entrusted to you and me. A soul."The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being" (Genesis 2:7).
Your soul distinguishes you from zoo dwellers. God gifted the camel with a hump and the giraffe with a flagpole neck, but he reserved his breath, or a soul, for you. You bear his stamp. You do things God does. Think. Question. Reflect. You blueprint buildings, chart sea crossings, and swallow throat lumps when your kids say their alphabet. You, like Adam, have a soul.
And, like Adam, you've used your soul to disobey God. God's command to the charter couple includes the Bible's first reference to death. "You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die" (v.17NIV).
Reread God's warning: "when you eat of it you will surely die." Sin resulted in Adam's and Eve's immediate deaths. But death of what? Their bodies? No, they continued to breathe. Brain waves flowed. Eyelids blinked. Their bodies functioned, but their hearts hardened. They stopped trusting God. Their friendship with their Maker died...
Prior to this act, they followed God like sheep follow their shepherd. He spoke, they listened. He gave assignments; they fulfilled them. They were naked but unashamed, transparent and unafraid. Yet as one drop of ink clouds a glass of water, the stubborn deed darkened their souls. Everything changed. God's presence stirred panic, not peace. Adam ran like a kid caught raiding the pantry. "I was afraid" (3:10). Intimacy with God ceased; separation from God began. We'll always wonder why Adam didn't ask for forgiveness. But he didn't, and the guilty pair was "sent...out of the garden of Eden" 3:23)
We've loitered outside the gates ever since. --From: 3:16/ By: Max Lucado)

“I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.” ----(Psalm 45:17)
The 45th Psalm is a beautiful Messianic psalm, speaking prophetically of the coming Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, the psalm is quoted by the writer of Hebrews, calling Him “God” and promising not only eternal remembrance but also everlasting dominion: “But unto the Son, he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom” (Hebrews 1:8, citing Psalm 45:6).
But the writer also said He would be remembered in all generations. That has proved true, so far! As others have frequently noted, this man lived on Earth only 33 years, never traveled more than a few miles from His home, never wrote a book, never raised an army, never ruled over so much as a village let alone a kingdom, never married or had children, never enrolled for any formal education, and finally was executed as a criminal.
Yet He has, indeed, been remembered through all generations following His all-too-short career two thousand years ago—and remembered with love and deep reverence and gratitude by millions of people in all nations ever since. Furthermore, though He never wrote a book, others have written innumerable books about Him, while another psalmist assured us that His words would also be preserved “from this generation for ever” (Psalm 12:7).
And all this has come to pass! Herein is a marvelous thing! Indeed, He was, and is, God and this was demonstrated by His flawless character, His amazing teachings, His unique miracles, His volitional, sacrificial death, and His mighty defeat of death itself by His bodily resurrection and ascent into heaven. --ICR/ HMM

---[TODAY'S READING Hebrews 9:11-15] [Christ] went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands." (vs.11) ---- --WHEN GOD gave Moses instructions for constructing the tabernacle, there was a "story" behind everything (EX. 25-27). The tabernacle had only one entrance, just as we have only one way to God (see Acts 4:12). The thick inner curtain separated the people from the Most Holy Place where God's presence dwelt: Our sin separates us from God.
Inside the Most Holy Place was the 'Ark of the Covenant', which symbolized God's presence. The high priest was a forerunner of the greater Priest to come--Jesus Himself. The blood of the sacrifices foreshadowed Christ's perfect sacrifice: "He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption" (Hebrews 9:12).
All these things told the story of Christ and the work He would accomplish on our behalf. He did it so that "those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance" (v.15). Jesus invites us to be a part of His story. --ODB/TG

--THE LAMB OF GOD ---(Please Read/ -- (John 1:29-36)
Scripture has a variety of titles for Jesus—Messiah, Lord, Christ, Rabbi, Teacher—but the one that is probably least familiar to the modern world is the Lamb of God. Since most of us do not have a Jewish background, we may have a limited understanding of this designation. But the Israelites of that day understood its significance. Lambs were for sacrifice.
God has always dealt with transgression through the blood of sacrifices. When Adam and Eve sinned, an animal was slain to cover the nakedness and shame of two individuals (Gen. 3:21). On the first Passover, each household covered the doorway with sacrificial blood (Ex. 12:1-7). Later, a goat was slaughtered for the atonement of the entire nation (Lev. 16:15). Now in John 1:29, we see the ultimate sacrifice—the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world.
Many lives are marked by some fine achievements, but think about the enormity of what Jesus accomplished through His death. Just as innocent animals had died in place of the guilty, so Christ gave His perfect life for sinful mankind. He assumed full responsibility for all our sins and took the punishment that we deserved. As He hung on the Cross, the judgment and wrath of God was poured out on Him instead of on us.
Since we are limited by our human minds and senses, we cannot fully understand all that the Lamb of God endured to bring us salvation. But we know enough to realize that we owe Him our lives. He took our place on the Cross, so let’s give Him first place in our hearts. --IN TOUCH~~ -/ Worthy is the Lamb/ Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAplJ0_jDFc> ----

--'The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.' --(Exodus 33:11)--
--Although the world is connected electronically like never before, nothing beats time together in person. As we share and laugh together, we can often sense--almost unconsciously--the other person's emotions by watching their facial movements. Those who love each other, whether family or friend, like to share with each other face to face.
We see this face-to-face relationship between the Lord and Moses, the man God chose to lead His people. Moses grew in confidence over the years of following God, and he continued to follow Him despite the people's rebelliousness and idolatry. After the people worshiped a golden calf instead of the Lord (see Ex.32), Moses set up a tent outside of the camp in which to meet God, while they had to watch from a distance (33:7-11). As the pillar of cloud signifying God's presence descended to the tent, Moses spoke on their behalf. The Lord promised that His Presence would go with them (V.14).
Because of Jesus' death on the Cross and His Resurrection, we no longer need someone like Moses to speak with God for us. Instead, just as Jesus offered His disciples, we can have friendship with God through Christ (John 15:15). We too can meet with Him, with the Lord speaking to us as one speaks to a friend.

~~~~When John the Baptist saw Jesus approaching, he declared Christ to be the Lamb of God.
This concept was familiar to the Israelites, since their law required blood offerings as atonement for sin (Lev. 17:11). Jesus became our sacrificial Lamb, paying once for all the sin debt owed by mankind (1 Peter 3:18). His death secured forgiveness and eternal life for everyone who trusts Him as Savior. With regard to salvation, nothing else is required or acceptable to God.
Jesus was the one who set things right between the Father and man. He died to bring us ...
**Redemption. This was a word that was used to describe a marketplace transaction—one that buys back something of value. All humanity was in bondage to sin and unable to pay the penalty (Rom. 6:23). As our sacrificial lamb, Jesus willingly died in our place and with His blood, redeemed us for His Father (1 Peter 1:18-19).
**Forgiveness. As God’s adopted children, we have been saved by the blood of Christ and pardoned for our transgressions. The penalty for our actions has been fully paid. So at the moment of salvation, guilt for all of our sins—past, present, and future—is wiped away.
**Meditate on what the Savior did at Calvary. As the sacrificial Lamb, Jesus exchanged His life for ours and gave it up to pay what we owed. His death redeemed us, secured our forgiveness, and gave us a permanent place in God’s family. Thank You, Jesus, for bringing redemption! --IN TOUCH~~ ["Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins."--(Hebrews 9:22) Jehovah God required a perfect, sinless sacrifice. --HE'S GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS~ --(Please Read/ Daniel 2:20-22)--
--How many of us have listened to the global or national news and wondered, 'What in the world is going on?' Without a firm foundation of biblical truth, we can easily be overcome with fear and despair. Despite the upheaval in political and financial realms, Christians can find peace in the knowledge that our God is sovereign over every nation and ruler on earth.
Though the future of a nation appears to be in the hands of its rulers and lawmakers, an omnipotent hand is orchestrating a good and glorious plan: The Lord is the one who “removes kings and establishes kings” (Dan. 2:21). Ultimately, every governmental leader is put into office, not by voters, political campaigns, or personal abilities, but by the hand of God.
Nothing that the Lord does is carried out in isolation. He’s working all things according to His divine plan. We tend to think that a ruler has to be righteous for God to use Him, but Proverbs 21:1 tells us the Lord can direct the heart of any national leader wherever He wishes. In fact, He describes two pagan kings—Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus—as “My servant” (Jer. 25:9) and “My shepherd” (Isa. 44:28). Unbeknownst to them, God guided their paths to fulfill His purposes for Israel.
-When the news threatens to dislodge your peace or cause despair, remember Who holds the nations and rulers in His hand. The Lord’s plans for this world are moving along according to His divine purposes, and no unrighteous ruler can thwart Him. Tell Him, 'Jesus I Need You'. He loves to hear from us, His people. --IN TOUCH~~--/ 'JESUS I NEED YOU' / Hillsong ~- <https://youtu.be/qz_oad9XZ0o> -------
