---WHEN TO PRAY ~~
“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.” ---- (Colossians 4:2)--
There is no set time to pray, for it is always appropriate. Our text tells us to “continue” in prayer, and this is the same word as in Romans 12:12, which urges us to be “instant in” prayer. In fact, the admonition of 1 Thessalonians 5:17 is to “pray without ceasing.”
Children should pray, as did little Samuel. When the Lord called him, he could answer: “Speak; for thy servant heareth” (1 Samuel 3:10). Young people should pray, as Timothy, who was exhorted by Paul to make “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks . . . for all men” (1 Timothy 2:1). Adult men should pray, as did Paul himself, who could say to the Christians of Philippi that he was “always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy” (Philippians 1:4). Old men should pray, like Simeon, and old women, like Anna, who “served God with fastings and prayers night and day” (Luke 2:25, 36-37). And even dying men should pray, as did Stephen who, as he was being stoned to death, was also “calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” (Acts 7:59).We can pray at dawn like David, who said: “My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up” (Psalm 5:3). In a Philippian prison, “at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God” (Acts 16:25). Daniel “kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed” (Daniel 6:10). There is no time that is not a good time for prayer. One should pray in times of sorrow and also in times of joy, as did Hannah in both circumstances (1 Samuel 1:15; 2:1). It is a most marvelous privilege that we have through Christ that we are able to speak to the infinite God in prayer and to know that He hears and cares. Therefore, pray!---- --ICR/HMM -- 'IMAGINE ME WITHOUT YOU' /By: Jaci Velasquez ~ < https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1WFhUBNbTA> -------

---KEEP PRAYING! GOD WILL ANSWER~~
--"It troubled me deeply till I entered the Sanctuary of God." --(Psalm 73:16-17)--
--IN PSALM 73 we read of Asaph as he lamented the way the world seems to work, how wrongs seem to be rewarded. He doubts the value of being different than the crowd and living for the good of others (V 13). But when he enters the sanctuary of God, his outlook changes (VV. 16-17): he remembers that God will deal with the world and its troubles perfectly and, more importantly, that it is good to be with God (V. 28).When we're distraught by the seemingly ceaseless problems in our world, we can enter God's sanctuary in prayer and be warmed through by the life-altering, perspective-changing truth that His judgment is better than ours. Though our circumstances may not change, our perspective can.~~ -"Lord, I admit I quickly become frustrated with the way things appear. --LORD OF THE MOMENT~
"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps."~~(Proverbs 16:9) --
--NOT LONG ago I was working on a construction project at my son's home three hours away. The job took days longer than expected, and each morning I prayed we would finish by sunset. But every evening there was more to be done.
I wondered why. 'Could there be a reason for the delay? An answer came the next morning. I was picking up a tool when my phone rang and a stranger's voice spoke urgently: "Your daughter was injured in an accident. You need to come immediately."
She lived near my son, so it took just fourteen minutes to reach her. If I had been home, I would have been three hours away. I followed the ambulance to the hospital and comforted her before surgery. As I sat holding her hand I realized if my project hadn't been delayed, I wouldn't have been there.
Our moments belong to God. This was the experience of a woman whose son God resurrected through the prophet Elisha (2 Kings 4:18-37). She left the country because of famine and returned years later to beg the king for her land. At precisely that moment the king was conversing with the prophet's servant. "Just as Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had restored" her son, the woman walked in (8:5). Her request was granted.
We don't know what even the next second brings, but God is graciously able to use any situation for good. May God give us grace to walk with Him expectantly into His appointments for us today and every day.

--Daily Prayer For All Times ~~
--Lord, help me live from day to day in such a self-forgetful way that even when I kneel to pray my prayers will be for others.
Help me, Jesus, in all the work I do to ever be sincere and true and know that all I do for You must needs be done for others...
And when my work on earth is done and my new work in heaven begun may I forget the crown I've won while thinking still of others.
Others, Lord, yes, others Let this my motto be; Help me to live for others that I may live like Thee."

---WHEN TO PRAY ~~
--"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be see by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full." ---[Matthew 6:5/ NIV] --
----I had a simple agenda for my fifty-fifth birthday: stay home from work and not cook. But the day ended up including many moments that filled me with more gratitude and happiness than I had imagined.
I decided to share lunch with my ninety-one-year-old dad. As I walked my father to my car, my friend Joe, whom I had not seen in many years, passed by, threw his car into park sprinted to give me a hugs. It was a gift of great worth to me, because I always enjoyed my conversations with Joe and missed our chats. Once my dad got to the car, the sky opened up and the rain fell hard. My dad, who uses a walker, would likely get wet if we decided to eat at a restaurant owned by another friend. To avoid the rain, I picked up a pizza from the restaurant. Wanted to devour the hot pizza immediately, we decided to sit in the car and eat. The rain teemed, but we were dry. I asked Dad to lead grace before we ate. I don't remember all the words my father prayed, but I know that he asked the Lord to cover my family and me. His prayer felt different, somehow: I am no long a child, but what a great comfort -- and birthday present --it was to hear prayers from my dad offered on my behalf.. --"Father God, thank You for enabling my father on earth to still seek to cover my family and me with his petitions to You, on our behalf. All praise, honor and glory to your name, Jesus." --"In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." --[1 Thessalonians 5:18] --ODB/GTW~ ~~

--What Prayer Can Do ~--Healing Our Divisions ~~
--"Promise me you won't bring up politics," I said to my husband. Don, as we left for Christmas dinner at my sister's.
I've already promised!" Dan said.
For most of our marriage, Don and i had been on the same page politcally. But lately we weren't even in the same book, and Don never missed a chance to voice his opinions. I knew it wasn't just Don and me with this problem. 'The whole country seemed spoiling for a fight. Don kept his word, and dinner went well---until my sister made a comment about the news. Her husband chimed in. Don responded. In seconds, harsh words were flying. "Isn't it nice that we can vote for anyone we want?" I said nervously when there was a break in action.. Everyone settled down---or more accurately, returned to their corners. I spent he rest of the dinner feeling tense, waiting for them to go at it again. God, help me find a way to bring our family back together, I asked on the way home. I waited for God to give me a brilliant idea/ And waited. . As I was making breakfast, shortly after New Year's the topic was still on my mind. Maybe avoiding politics is the best we can do. Don looked up from his newspaper at the table, "I think we should start praying together every day," he said. I agreed to give it a try. The tension between us disappeared when we focused our attention on God, and we both felt good asking Him to give wisdom to our leaders. A few weeks after we stared our new prayer habit, Don suggested we invite the rest of the family to join in y phone. It was a great success. One afternoon, Don and I were driving when a news brief came on the radio. I braced myself for Don to offer some comment that I couldn't let go. Instead, he said, "We should spread the Gospel of God, not the gospel of politicians." And switched off the radio. It's not that Don and I have abandoned our political beliefs. We just don't let them come between us. God is healing our family, reminding us that we're part of a story that's bigger than our current political divisions. I know He'll heal our nation too. ----PRAYING ALWAYS ~~
--"Prayer was made without ceasing of the church God for him." --[Acts 12:5} -
---Recently one of my teenage daughters said to me, "Grandpa, I pray for you often." This was encouraging to me because she spoke sincerely from a caring heart . As Christians we can find great comfort in talking to God about our problems. Prayer is the Christian's avenue of direct communication with God.How do we respond in dire needs or difficult circumstances in our lives? Do we pray without ceasing as 1 Thessalonians 5:17 instructs? We cannot walk around with our eyes closed in prayer all the time, but we can be in the spirit of constant communion with God. "Meditate upon these things. (1 Timothy 4:15). How must God feel about our prayer life? Is he disappointed with how soon we give up on prayer? We all have needs, "We should pray much and humble ourselves, confessing our struggles and asking others to pray for us and with us. It is also good for us to pray for others. In doing so we shift our focus to the needs of others, keeping own needs in better perspective. Sometimes we pray and pray for months or years about circumstances we face and it seems that nothing changes. We wonder if God really hears and cares. "Wait on the Lord; be of good courage and He shall strengthen thine heart (Psalm 27:14). "Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10) For the past ten years I have been battling with some infirmities in the flesh, praying daily for God's healing God seems to be saying, "Wait, not now but in eternity I will give you a new body and wipe away your tears. Then there will be no more pain." ~~--BSW/DY~
