~~Rev. Christopher Bruesehoff, an ELCA pastor, and his wife have publicized the status of their 11-year-old child, who was born a boy but has been living as a girl since age 9. This child has now received a second surgically implanted hormone blocker, which prevents puberty. Using powerful drugs for the off-label purpose of blocking puberty is experimental and leaves many questions about how this can affect children long term. The Bruesehoff's child, who goes by the name Rebekah, spoke at the ELCA Youth Gathering in 2018. ~
