HART On CD
How To Restore Documents

This page explains how to restore HART On CD documents that are missing or displaying as blank pages.

How To Restore Documents

Occasionally, the Windows operating system will erase or corrupt files that the HART On CD program uses to store HART documents. This procedure will show you how to recover those lost or blank documents.

Step #1: Open The HART On CD Program

Begin by opening the program as you normally would. When the program is open, proceed to step #2.

Step #2: Open The "Restore" Window

Using the menu at the top left of the HART On CD window, click "Help" then click "Restore Documents...". This will open the "Restore Documents" window.

Step #3: Choose Documents To Restore

Now, click the "Manual Restore" button. This will open a list of all documents that are available for the HART On CD program.

NOTE: If a new window does not open, this means that a firewall on your computer is blocking the program from communicating on the internet. In this case, shut down the program (you may have to use Control-Alternate-Delete to shut the program down) and then change your firewall settings to allow the HART On CD program to communicate on the internet, then follow this procedure starting with step #1 above.

Place a check mark next to all documents that you want to restore. You do this by clicking the square box to the left of the document name.

Step #4: Restore The Documents

Now, simply click the "OK" button at the bottom of this window. This will begin downloading new copies of the documents you selected. When the process is complete, click the "Close" button.

You will now see a message telling you that you need to restart the program to see the restored documents. Click "OK" on this window to remove this message.

Step #5: Restart The Program

In order to see the newly restored documents, you will need to restart the HART On CD program. When the program is restarted, check to see of the previously missing or blank documents are working properly. If not, feel free to contact Herb Allure technical support for help.
